Work Teams at Oak Hill UMC show God's Glory
Oak Hill United Methodist Church and West Virginia Volunteers in Mission have been working together to repair homes in Fayette County, WV.
Glory Sighting Oak Hill UMC

In 2012, they have hosted 22 work teams, representing 465 volunteers, from Wisconsin, Oklahoma, Michigan and New England. Teams from the West Virginia Conference have also participated. Read more about this week's Glory Sighting.

A Glory Sighting is God at work in the world. It can be seen in baptisms; but also in nature. It might be an after school program that feeds kids in the community. Send us a photo and/or a story about a glory sighting in your church and ministry, and we'll feature it in the e-news. You'll also have our thanks and we'll send you a 2GB jump drive. Email us at wvumc@wvumc.org

Small Churches, Vital Congregations
"We are a conference of small churches." That's a sentiment many express about The West Virginia Annual Conference.  Small, rural churches can be places of vitality and effective discipleship. That belief is at the core of the Hinton Rural Life Center's mission.

Read more about this ministry to rural churches in this United Methodist News Service (UMNS) story.

Treasurer's Office announcement
A reminder that all people who handle money in your local church must be bonded by January 1, 2013. "Part of the purpose for bonding individuals is to protect those who handle money for the church," said conference treasurer, Jim Berner. If you have questions about the bonding process, contact conference risk manager, John Thompson, at 877-837-4065.
