Church celebrates anniversary with "50 Acts of Charity"
Lakeview UMC in St. Albans, W.Va. celebrates 50 years of service to the community this weekend with activities that include a tailgate party and potluck dinner.
But, they've been busy helping the community around them all year long. Through "50 Acts of Charity" the church has given supplies and financial support to local shelters and feeding ministries like Manna Meal and Sojourners in Charleston.
"It's our way of giving back to our community," said church member Norma Newbrough. "We've been blessed in unexpected ways through this ministry."

Music: Eric Whitacre
A gifted American Composer, Eric Whitacre is well-known for his choral settings of sacred texts, and for instrumental music for wind ensemble. In 2009, he harnessed the power of social media to create a virtual choir. Whitacre created a conductor track that singers from all over the world used to record themselves. This piece, Lux Aurumque ("Light and Gold") has a Christmas theme:
