Call for Cleaning Buckets

Recent storms throughout the United States have nearly depleted the United Methodist Committee on Relief's (UMCOR's) funds for domestic disasters. You can give here online through UMCOR (Conference Treasurers, please note these instructions for local church collection).

Cleaning Buckets are also in short supply. They will be collected at Annual Conference again this year; there's a list here of what should be in each bucket.

"States affected by recent tornadoes and flooding aren't ready for work teams just yet," said Conference Disaster Relief co-Coordinator, Rev. Dan Lowther. "We'll let folks know when they are."

Prayers for the unchurched

Many in our communities don't know how loved they are by God or how much they need Christ. Join Bishop Lyght in prayer for the unchurched during Annual Conference. Please bring the names of folks in your community who may not attend church. They can be dropped off at the evangelism table in the gymnasium during Annual Conference. Last year more than 1300 names were prayed for. If you have any questions about this ministry, please e-mail Rev. Bill Dawson

Pentecost Sunday Resources

The Annual Conference session this year concludes on Saturday afternoon - which means pastors and church members will be able to be home to celebrate Pentecost Sunday.

Check out the sermon, liturgy, and youth resources at wvumc.org/evangelism to use in your church on Pentecost Sunday.

Audio visual techies needed

Does your church use a computer and projector in worship? We are looking for local church "techies"; the folks who help build and run visuals, maintain a web presence, produce videos, take pictures and more. We want to share best practices and learn from each other.

Also, we need some help during Annual Conference to
help build visuals, run computer and operate cameras during sessions and worship. Volunteers who help out at Conference with audio-visuals receive mileage reimbursement and meals.

Please send their name and email address to wvumc.stories@gmail.com

United Methodist Foundation luncheon

UMFWV

The United Methodist Foundation of West Virginia will host a luncheon at Annual Conference, Saturday June 11, in Private Dining Rooms A & B. Everyone is invited to be the Foundation's guest and to learn more about their ministry.

Reservations are necessary and can be made by calling the Foundation office (1-800-788-3746 ext 45) or by emailing info@umfwv.org.

Summer Youth Celebration

Join the Conference Council on Youth Ministries for Summer Youth Celebration (SYC) Monday June 20 to Friday June 24 at West Virginia Wesleyan College in Buckhannon. This year's theme is "POWER UP", based on Isaiah 40: 28-31: "...Even youths will faint and be weary, and the young will fall exhausted; but those who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint." Learn more and register online here.
