The Weekly Shout-out
Ministry Stories from around the Conference
St. Mark's UMC in Charleston hosts a movie night on the last Friday of most months. About 75 people - many who are homeless or close to it - showed up last week to enjoy pizza, popcorn, and watch the film How to Tame Your Dragon.

Pongchot is a one-year-old baby boy living in Southeast Asia, waiting to be adopted. The youth at Emma Chapel UMC want to make sure he's cared for until that happens. They've collected enough money so far to sponsor him for 13 months, and they'll keep it up as long as they need to.
Youth groups from three Kanawha Valley UMC's (Christ Church, Dunbar, and Aldersgate) will get together this weekend for a 30 hour fast as part of their study of hunger issues around the world. We'd love some pictures of that event, please send them our way if can: wvumc@wvumc.org
And, over on the Quad @wvumc you can read about the Spring 2011 Ministry Commission Study Report, which proposes some significant changes in how clergy are recruited, prepared, and evaluated for ministry.
