In Prayer

The Weekly Shout Out...

We heard from several local churches via the Conference Facebook page last week who celebrated 'Souper Bowl Sunday' through ministry to help the hungry.

St. Pauls UMC in Paden City asked members to bring in soup for the church food pantry.

Peora UMC in Shinnston donated soup to a food pantry in their community.

First UMC in Buckhannon hosted a month-long 'Souper Bowl'.  Church members put cans of soup in their favorite team's box; the team with the most soup by the end of the 'big game' won. All donations were given to the Upshur Parish House.

Chapel Hill UMC, also in Buckhannon gave 3000 food items, including meat and about $12000 in cash donations for utility assistance to the Upshur Parish House.

We'd love to shout out your church ministry!  Post on our Facebook page to let us know what your church or ministry is doing to show the light of Christ to the world:  facebook.com/wvumc.  Or, drop an e-mail to wvumc@wvumc.org.
