Would Wesley Tweet?
He's not around for us to ask, but this week's United Methodist Reporter blog takes a look at the Wesleyan-ism of tweeting.  Let us know what you think on the Conference Facebook page.

Social Media continues to serve more people in the West Virginia Conference.  More than 1,000 people follow the Conference at  twitter.com/wvumc. The facebook page for the Conference reaches more than 800 people.  The YouTube channel is also getting more play.  Recent videos feature the United Methodist Women, and two 'Giving is Worship' videos that explain the importance of Apportionment giving.
Creative ideas for celebrating the Advent/Christmas season in church
The holidays are a time of celebration and joy, but for many people they are stressful.  Holiday party overload, consumerism, and unemployment/under-employment are issues members of your congregation may face.
United Methodist Communications offers these tips for congregations to celebrate the true meaning of the season.

Rethink Church:  Advent Resources
A four-part, lectionary-based Rethink Church preaching series for Advent is available from United Methodist Communications. A Life-Giving Christmas also provides support/study materials that provide congregations personal and social challenges that tie in to the message of the season.

Cokesbury Open House
Cokesbury LogoCelebrate the season with Cokesbury during an Open House Event November 18-20.  There will be a 25% discount on most in-stock merchandise, making this a great time to stock up on church supplies for the Advent season and through the New Year. Make a list of what you need and come in to shop - or order via fax or phone.
Register early for Commission Possible
Commission Possible II is the evangelism event of the West Virginia Conference in 2011. Learn more about it at wvumc.org/evangelism. Teams registered by December 15 receive a $25 discount.
