Mick named Kids Count Board President
Conference UMW president, Pat Mick, was named Kids Count Board president.  Mick will be the first woman to lead the board, and was unanimously elected Sept. 1.  Last year, Mick led the UMW to give Kids Count more than $7,000, which helped offset a deficit the organization suffered after the 2008 economic slowdown.

Get Ready for Youth2011
Consider bringing your church youth group to Youth2011,  a quadrennial  youth event of the United Methodist Church.  The gathering will be at Purdue University in Indiana July 13-17, 2011.

"This event is full of great music and worship, as well as spiritual growth opportunities for youth," said Conference Youth Coordinator, Nancy White.  She says that youth groups need to let her know as soon as possible if they are interested in attending so that transportation plans can be made.  Email her at nancywhite@suddenlink.net to let her know of your interest and to receive regular updates on travel arrangements.

Also, youth should mark their calendars for Fall Workshop coming Nov. 18-19.  Brochure and registration will be online soon at wvumc.org/youth.
