The WVCC was chosen by Governor Manchin last April to administer the Montcoal Mine Disaster Fund. The fund raised more than $750,000 for the families of the miners lost and injured in a massive April 5 explosion at the Upper Big Branch Mine near Montcoal, W.Va. The United Methodist Foundation of West Virginia continues to provide administrative support to the fund at no charge to the WVCC.

Keeping up: wvumc.org/calendar and Facebook The calendar function on the website is a good tool for keeping up with what is going on around the conference. For example, click on the 'September' link on the calendar section of the website, and you'll see all the events scheduled this month on the Conference calendar. Click on 'Next' to see the months ahead.
Also - the Facebook page for the WV Annual Conference continues to grow. In January just under 200 people 'liked' the page; that number has nearly quadrupled to 739 'likes'. You do not need a Facebook account to access the information on the page. Check it out! facebook.com/wvumc
