Video highlights apportionment giving
Together, we do more than one church could alone...

A new video produced by the communications team highlights apportionments and the role connectional giving plays in helping people around the world and here in the WV Conference.  Watch the video on the Conference YouTube Channel, or download it here.  Call Andrea Holley in the Conference Office if you would like a DVD copy of video:  800-788-3746, ext. 24 or email her: aholley@wvumc.org
Kathy Mattea at the Clay Center Sept. 16
singer's concert will benefit WV Council of Churches
West Virginia native Kathy Mattea will perform next week at the Clay Center in Charleston in a benefit concert for the West Virginia Council of Churches (WVCC).

The WVCC was chosen by Governor Manchin last April to administer the Montcoal Mine Disaster Fund.  The fund raised more than $750,000 for the families of the miners lost and injured in a massive April 5 explosion at the Upper Big Branch Mine near Montcoal, W.Va. The United Methodist Foundation of West Virginia continues to provide administrative support to the fund at no charge to the WVCC.

Tickets can be purchased through the WVCC website or by calling the Council of Churches at 304-344-3141

Keeping up: wvumc.org/calendar and Facebook
The calendar function on the website is a good tool for keeping up with what is going on around the conference.  For example, click on the 'September' link on the calendar section of the website, and you'll see all the events scheduled this month on the Conference calendar.  Click on 'Next' to see the months ahead.

Also - the Facebook page for the WV Annual Conference continues to grow.  In January just under 200 people 'liked' the page; that number has nearly quadrupled to 739 'likes'.  You do not need a Facebook account to access the information on the page.  Check it out! facebook.com/wvumc
