"Dear Lord, our friend, our guide and our teacher: receive our
gifts as we bless our young people on their way to college." from a prayer for Campus Ministry Sunday, written by Rev. Jim McCune.
Our Conference supports college
students at
nine colleges and universities through active campus ministries. This Sunday, August 22 is Campus Ministry
Sunday. Churches are asked to consider a special offering on this day to support
the Christian community and service opportunities for students who participate
in United Methodist Campus Ministry programs. Rev. Jim McCune, chair of Higher Education and Campus Ministry for the Conference has written a prayer for churches to use when taking up offerings this week.
Stay Connected on Campus Going to college can sometimes be overwhelming for students. You can help make
sure they know God is present in their new adventure. Send names, email addresses and cell phone numbers of students you know to the
campus pastor at their school. If you have any questions, please
contact Rev. Jim McCune by e-mail or call him at 304-788-2561.
