Campus Ministry Sunday is August 22

Our Conference supports college students at nine colleges and universities through active campus ministries.  Sunday, August 22 is Campus Ministry Sunday. Churches are asked to consider a special offering on this day to support the Christian community and service opportunities for students who participate in United Methodist Campus Ministry programs. Church treasurers, the remittance number for this Special Sunday is 766.  Please pray for returning students, too.

Stay Connected on Campus
Going to college can sometimes be overwhelming for students. You can help make sure they know God is present in their new adventure. Send the names, email addresses and cell phone numbers of students you know to the campus pastor at their school. If you have any questions, please contact Rev. Jim McCune, Chairperson of the Ministry Team on Higher Education and Campus Ministry, by e-mail or call him at 304-788-2561.

Flood Buckets Needed
Recent flooding in West Virginia has depleted the Conference Disaster Response Team's supply of flood buckets.  Your church can help!

"We're asking churches to start putting bu
floodbucketsckets together," said Conference Disaster Response Coordinator, Rev. Dan Lowther.  Churches should use UMCOR's instructions for filling the buckets with supplies.  Look for details on how churches can help with delivery of flood buckets in the next West Virginia United Methodist and in future editions of the e-news.

Questions? Contact Dan and Sue Lowther for more information.
