West Virginia Conference UMC

Need for Annual Conference Monitors

Monitoring reminds the annual conference to include all people in our holy conferencing.  It records participation in the business and worship sessions of conference by tracking race and ethnicity, gender, physical ability, age, ministry status, and geographic location of delegates and participants.

If you are interested in helping with the ministry of monitoring this year, please plan on attending a training session Wed. June 9 at 4:00 p.m. in room 114 of the Christopher Hall of Science on WV Weslyan's campus.

The conference Justice and Advocacy Team will provide training materials and dinner for participants after the training session at no charge.  Please contact Rev. Jay Parkins at 304.538.2024 or e-mail him at jayparkins@ms.com for information and to pre-register.    Join us!

Learn more about the history of monitoring in the UMC on the General Commission on Religion and Race website.
