Church of Haiti President Rev. Gesner
Paul in a January 28 letter to Bishops Joel Martinez and Janice Huie.
"Rev. Paul's letter is
helpful because it clarifies the need for volunteers in the future and the
wisdom of responding at the most appropriate time," said the Bishops in a joint statement released yesterday. "We encourage local church members to read and share it." You can read Rev. Paul's complete letter here.

Annual Conference have given more than $255,000 to UMCOR for Haiti relief
efforts. Thanks again for your support as we
reach out to share the love of Christ to people in need.

Re-scheduling...
The United Methodist Women district training event scheduled for this Saturday has been postponed due to a winter storm predicted this weekend. The new date is next Saturday, Feb. 13 at Chapel Hill UMC in Buckhannon.
The UMCOR/Haiti Benefit Concert in South Charleston is still on for Friday night from 7-10 p.m. Complete details on the show are on the Conference Facebook page.
Conference Center Phone Outage Postponed
There will be no interruption of phone service at the Conference Center tomorrow (Thursday, Feb. 4). The transition date to the new system will be shared via e-news once it's scheduled. |
Sanctity of Life Sunday - February 7
Sanctity of Life Sunday is observed each year by churches in the West Virginia Conference of The United Methodist Church.
Money raised supports the adoption program at Burlington United Methodist Family Services.
