Haiti Response Update
As of Tuesday January 26, $120,216.25 has been raised through churches in the West Virginia Conference to help the people of Haiti. Thank you!
- Worship resources (bulletin inserts, litanies, etc.) are available through United Methodist Communications. Download them here.
- Special Offerings for Haiti relief should be directed to the Conference Treasurer using a remittance form, marked 'Haiti Earthquake 2010.'
- A concert to benefit UMCOR will be held this weekend in South Charleston. Learn more about the event here.
Conference VIM coordinator Rev. Tom Clark will maintain a database of the names of people interested in being on a work team to Haiti after first responders complete the initial phase of disaster recovery. Please call him at 304-206-8257 for more information.

Grow Your Church: Early Registration Deadline Feb. 1
Do you wish you knew how to connect with people in a way that would draw them to Christ and your church?
Veteran church planter and congregational coach Jim Griffith will help you answer this question during a workshop March 13-14 at Chief Logan Lodge in Logan, WV.
Space is still available for about 15 teams, and must include the pastor of the church and 3 laypeople. Teams registering by Feb.1 pay a discounted fee of $300 for the workshop. The fee per team goes up to $400 after Feb. 1.

Sanctity of Life Sunday - February 7
Sanctity of Life Sunday is observed each year by churches in the West Virginia Conference of The United Methodist Church.
Money raised supports the adoption program at Burlington United Methodist Family Services.

Local Church Connection
 The women at Christ Church United Methodist in Clarksburg have made more than 2000 blankets for children as they prepare for surgery at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.
"Our Pastor, Rev. Nancy Cale, prays for God's blessing, and for peace and love to surround the child receiving each blanket," church member Francie Lynch said.

2010 Mileage Rate
The rate for mileage reimbursement is .50/mile. The change took effect January 1, 2010.

Statistical Reports Due January 31
The conference website has a list churches that have not submitted their statistical reports yet, as well as the necessary forms and information to submit. We will be updating this daily through the end of the month.
