Workable Evangelism Workshop Nov. 14 in WestonDr. Robert Pierson

6 1/2 hours + $20 = a Workable Evangelism Plan.  Join us Saturday, November 14 from 9:30 - 4:00 at Broad Street UMC in Weston for a workshop featuring, Dr. Robert Pierson, author, UM pastor, and founder of Leadership Nexus.  Dr. Pierson will lead us through the basics outlined in his book, Needs-Based Evangelism: Becoming a Good Samaritan Church

He will help us understand hospitality and community-building ministries. This is a great event for an Evangelism Team to consider attending from a local church. Lunch and a copy of Dr. Pierson's book are included in the registration fee. We are delighted to be co-sponsoring this event with the WV Presbytery and look forward to seeing you there.  For more details, please click here.

The Local Church Connection
We'll be using this space in future e-news publications to let you know about stories in local churches around the WV Conference.  Have a ministry to share?  E-mail us here.

Faith UMC Fairmont co-hosts another 'Faith in Action' weekend starting this Saturday, Oct. 3. You may recall this ministry was featured in the May edition of the West Virginia United Methodist.  This weekend, five churches and over 250 volunteers will 'be the church' in their community.

Simpson Memorial UMC in Charleston is celebrating 143 years of history throughout the month of October. Simpson is a historically African-American congregation located in urban Charleston, WV.  The choir at the church will present a concert this Sunday (October 4) at 6pm, and a "Simpson through the years" photo exhibit next Sunday (October 11), at 3pm.

Follansbee UMC in Follansbee, WV recently paved a new parking lot - and they are using it as a space to reach the community.  The communications team will travel there this month, look for the story here and in the holiday edition of the West Virginia United Methodist.
