Trinity School Holds Pow-Wow to Celebrate Native American Indian Heritage



    
 

Ellicott City, MD - Trinity School, an independent, Catholic pre-school, pre-kindergarten, primary and middle school for boys and girls, grades Pre-School through 8, sponsored by the Sisters of Notre Dame de Namur, will host a POWWOW on Wednesday, January 19th from 11 am until noon, for grades Pre-K through 8th grade.

 

Conducted by Dennis Zotigh, director of the internationally known dance company, The Great American Indian Dancers will further enhance the theme of Native American Indian culture the Trinity students are learning in their Art class, taught by Mimi Rafferty. 

 

During this performance, students of Trinity School will be exposed first hand to many aspects of the Native American Indian culture, dance, song and storytelling. Mr. Zotigh has performed presentation such as this for over 30 years in over 2,000 schools.  Mr. Zotigh is a cultural contributor to the Smithsonian Native American Indian Museum in Washington, DC.
