This Week is National Volunteer Week, April 18-25
Local volunteers are recognized this week with purple ribbons. Over 75 local businesses offer discounts and incentives to volunteers wearing purple ribbons as a way to thank them for their outstanding contributions to our community. This week, make sure you thank a volunteer or become one yourself!

Bike Swap Success
The 4th Annual Bike Swap was a success with 238 bikes sold.  A total of $5,500 is donated to United Way community programs. Volunteers spent over 600 hours working to make this event successful.  A big 'Thank You' is extended to our underwriting sponsor - Continental Ski & Bike and all other supporting sponsors.  Without their contribution, this event would not be possible. Volunteer for Day of Caring, June 23rd!

UMD AlumniUnited Way's Day of Caring matches teams of volunteers who are eager to give back to the community with local non-profit agencies in need of extra hands.

Volunteers can make a real difference by tackling agency projects such as painting, planning activities for kids, collecting supplies, landscaping, light maintenance and many other opportunities.

Day of Caring is a great way to promote volunteerism, increase awareness of local human service agencies and give people a chance to see firsthand the impact United Way and local agencies are creating in our community.  Visit www.unitedwayduluth.org for more information or call 726-4794.

Volunteer Project Sign-up:  Begins May 1st
