CAMPAIGN KICK-OFF |
 The United Way Annual Campaign always kicks-off with a fierce but friendly chili competition. The 18th Annual United Way of Greater Duluth Chili Cook-off Campaign Kick-off is set for September 17th, 2009 at the DECC. Doors open at 4:30 pm.
Come one, Come all! The public is invited to taste some of our region's greatest chilis.

STAFF UPDATES
Jennifer Peterson has been hired at United Way of Greater Duluth as the new Community Initiatives Coordinator. Jennifer holds a Bachelor's degree in Community Health Education from the University of Minnesota, Duluth. Her experience includes coordinating and implementing programs for the American Cancer Society in Wausau, and active involvement in Early Childhood and Family Education programs with the Duluth school district. "I hope to continue to build on the Success by 6 initiatives and learn about all of the tireless work being done by our community partners in the area of early childhood care and education. I also hope to continue building the Success By 6 Advisory Council in hopes of continuing and developing new community- wide early childhood programs that prepare all children to enter kindergarten ready and able to learn." Welcome Jennifer!
Jennifer replaces Cheryl Skafte who has taken on a new position in the community. We wish Cheryl well as she continues her early childhood efforts! Yvonne Harvey has retired from her position of Community Services Director after 7 years of excellent service. We wish Yvonne the best. Hannah Johnston, United Way AmeriCorps member for HandsOn Greater Duluth, has completed her position at United Way. Thank you and good luck to Hannah in her future!
Sam Woolever, United Way's AmeriCorps member, has completed his position at United Way. We will miss Sam and wish him the best!

Accountability Standards Town Hall Forum! Please join the Charities Review Council for a town hall forum on the Council's new Accountability Standards. The Charities Review Council unveiled its new preliminary Accountability Standards in June and is seeking input from nonprofits and donors.
