CAMPAIGN 2008

United Way of Greater Duluth's 2008 fundraising campaign was launched on September 11, 2008 at the 17th Annual Chili Cook-off Campaign Kick-Off.  See who the Hot Winners are for 2008.

Although today's challenging economy has added pressure and urgency within all segments of society, United Way's commitment to set bold goals, forge effective partnerships, achieve meaningful results, and fulfill an ambitious mission has never been more important.

There really is a way to make our community a better place to live.  It begins when you make a choice.  To reach out.  To lend a hand.  To open your heart.  Every time a family finds a home, a child escapes abuse, or someone overcomes poverty, our entire community benefits.  Please join us this year in supporting our community with a gift to United Way of Greater Duluth.  Donate Now.

IMAGINATION LIBRARY

United Way of Greater Duluth recently brought Imagination Library to Greater Duluth.  Imagination Library is a nationally-recognized early literacy program benefiting children from birth to age 5. Enrolled children receive one of the most important tools needed to promote school readiness - books.  Read more.

COMMUNITY IMPACT REPORT 2008 RELEASED
Download Report
On October 1st, 2008, United Way of Greater Duluth released Community Impact Report 2008 - Partnerships in Action during a presentation luncheon at the Holiday Inn.

The report is an update to the 2007 report which provided an 18-month comprehensive community assessment including strategies and recommendations to address the region's most pressing health and human service issues in four target areas: fostering successful children and youth; improving people's health; promoting financial stability and independence; and ensuring a strong network of basic human services.

Based on key recommendations presented in the 2007 report, several partnerships were selected as the focus for the 2008 report.  These partnerships illustrate the value and impact of collective action in improving community conditions.  The report includes community collaborators as contributing authors and highlights the impact of initiatives and collaborations in Greater Duluth.
