Books I Loved

Broken Open
by Elizabeth Lesser

Offers tools to help us make the choice we all face in times of challenge: Will we be broken down and defeated, or broken open and transformed? Tales of ordinary people who have risen from the ashes of illness, divorce, loss of a job or a loved one - both stronger and wiser in their emotional intelligence.

If there is to be
any peace it will come through being, not having.

Kerry's Top 5 Organizing Tips

1. In regards to your belongings, if you don't feel fabulous when seeing it or wearing it, let it go!

2. Use 5 minutes a day of circling behavior (picking it up and dropping it off) to get stuff back to the right location. This also works with a garbage bag. Spend those 5 minutes throwing away/recycling what needs to go.

3. Keep some reusable grocery sacks in your car for trips to the store and to help empty it at the end of the day. These are useful for an endless amount of things.

4. Empty your car when you get home at the end of the day. Use a reusable sack you keep on your trunk to carry it all in. (Hint: you take more when you know you won't struggle to carry it)

5. Be inspired by grocery stores. Put heavily used items at eye level and easily accessible spots. Put items of low usage in out of way positions (think luggage and once a year holiday decorations).
