IS IT A FIDDLE OR
A VIOLIN?
While paintfree dent removal is lumped into dent repair as a whole, there is a valuable difference between retail and wholesale repair.  Without question, wholesale techs often have good repair skill on door dings, yet struggle with hail damage (headliners, loyalty to accounts, ..etc.).  dentsmart is proud to have put together teams that not only provide excellent hail response, we also provide the correct retail appearance for your customers.  Because hail repair is our only agenda, our loyalties reside with the shop owners and their insurance claims until the final car is done.  Just like the fiddle and the violin, it's the audience that decides the difference!

IN THE NEWS
Dentsmart speaks at Auto Fraud
Insurance Seminar

Unfortunately, fraudulent insurance claims effect all of us. According to insurance experts, 10-30% of all insurance claims have some element of fraud in them. In order to know what the latest frauds are and how they're being perpetrated, law enforcement officials and insurance representatives from the metro-east and St. Louis area came together at a special investigation unit auto theft seminar at the Collinsville State Farm Insurance claim office. Dentsmart was asked to address the topic of "Hail Fraud" or as we call it "Garage Hail" where if the hail does some damage, people use a small hammer or other object to make the damage bigger or more severe. An example of this type damage was demonstrated by Dave Haxton. If you are uncertain if the damage you are seeing is a result of fraud, feel free to contact us with your questions.

A leader's role is to raise people's aspirations for what they can become and to release their energies so they will try to get there. -- David R. Gergen

Laughter is Good Medicine

Feeling down or stressed out? Sometimes the best medicine is just a giggle away. To brighten up your day, keep these pointers in mind.

Look at the bright side of things. Stepping back and trying to find the humor in a difficult situation can make a world of difference. Imagine how you might tell this story at a party or how it might play out on a sitcom.

Joke about your day. If you are having a difficult day, joke about it with your coworkers, store clerks, or your family members. Talking about stress is a great way to relieve some of it, and keeping your tone light can ease some of the weight of the situation.

Make humor a part of every day. Make sure that you do something fun each day-call a friend for a quick laugh, play with your dog, get a funny calendar, or keep goofy pictures of your kids around. Take a humor break whenever you need a boost and listen to a CD of your favorite stand-up comic or read some jokes on the Internet.

Taming the Paper Beast

If you are like most people, you have drawers full of old bank statements, financial records, and other important documents. This paperwork does need to be saved for a period of time, but not usually indefinitely. Here are some guidelines for knowing when to keep or when to toss that piece of paper. If you are going to throw out any personal financial documents, you should shred them before placing them in your trash.

- Keep tax returns, bank statements, mortgage statements, and other records documenting tax deductions for seven years.

- Pay stubs only need to be kept until you receive your annual W-2 and have verified that it is accurate.

- Keep records of IRA contributions indefinitely, along with your retirement and savings plan statements. If you receive quarterly statements, keep these until you receive your annual statement, and then keep only that.

- Receipts and bills for large purchases should be kept for the life of the item, in the event you need documentation for a warranty or insurance claim.

- Records related to your mortgage should be kept permanently, including your mortgage contract, receipts for home improvements, contracts with your real estate agent, and other documents related to the sale or purchase of your home.
