As spring transforms into summer, things are bustling at Reiman Gardens! They currently have the world's largest concrete gnome exhibit all summer where you can decorate a gnome, vote for your favorite, and even take one home with you! Here is what else is going on in the Gardens this June.
Rose Festival
Saturday, June 19 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.Take in the rose show, enjoy educational workshops and live music. The Iowa Rose Society Annual Rose Show will also be featured.
Midnight Ivory Dueling Pianos
Saturday, June 19 from 6:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Join Reiman Gardens at their event for appetizers and a cash bar. Then listen to your favorite songs in dueling piano style with some lively banter and fun. "Midnight Ivory" features Roxi Copland, Des Moines 2009 musician of the year, and Chris Ranallo. This event is sponsored in part by the Ames Convention and Visitor's Bureau. Father's Day
Sunday, June 20 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. All dads will receive free admission to Reiman Gardens. Take Dad out to visit the Christina Reiman Butterfly Wing. Then stop at the Gift Shop to buy Dad something fun!

The Ames Community Arts Council will host this free, educational art series in Tom Evans Plaza to introduce a variety of artists to a youth-focused audience, including marionettes, puppeteers, storytellers and more. The programs will be held at 9:30, 10:30, and 11:30 in the morning the last Saturday of the month all summer long. Here is the upcoming summer schedule!

ISU Tailgate Tour
The Cyclone Tailgate Tour continues through June with stops in Harlan, Omaha, Sioux City, and Okoboji. The Harlan stop will be from 12-1pm on June 7th at the Golf and Country Club, and the Omaha event will be from 6-8:30 that evening at the Zoo. Then on Tuesday, there will be a lunch stop in Sioux City, then a get together at Arnold's Amusement Park in Okoboji from 5:30-7:30 pm. Enjoy food, inflatable games, and fun. Come meet the ISU coaches, have your picture taken with Cy, get autographs, and share your love of Cyclone sports! Stop by our booth during the event to pick your favorite background and pose in front of our green screen to create your own Cyclone fan photo! Exhibit: June 4 - July 25, 2010
Snapshots of Ames, a juried photography exhibit of 76 photos taken in or around Ames, will be showcased this summer at the Octagon Center for the Arts. There will be a reception for the opening of the exhibit on June 4th from 5-8, in conjunction with the Main Street Cultural District's ArtWalk. The event is free and open to the public.
