April 3 - Fashion Show April 15 - Opening of the Exhibition & Catalog
This annual spring tradition showcases the design work of students in Iowa State's Apparel Merchandising, Design, and Production program. The April 3rd Fashion Show is organized and run by students as a way to celebrate the program in a professional, industry-level manner. This is a great, entertaining event for students, alumni, family, and community members to enjoy.

Ames Chamber Artists
April 11
Check out Monroe Crossing as they present Carol Barnett's "The World Beloved: A Bluegrass Mass" on Sunday at 3:00 p.m., at Collegiate Presbyterian Church. The Minnesota blue grass band will feature the Iowa State Singers.
Tickets for the concert are $15 and will be sold at the door. Advance tickets are available at Evert's Flowers & Gifts and Rieman Music in downtown Ames, at ISU Music Hall room 149, and by mail order through www.ameschamberartists.org.

Celebrate VEISHEA!
April 12-18
VEISHEA, the largest student-run festival in the nation, is an annual celebration that has been a tradition at Iowa State University since 1922. The week-long event is marked by a diverse range of educational and entertaining events, from comedians and concerts to barbeques and the annual parade on Saturday.

Ames Children's Choir Concert
April 16
Experience the Celebrate Singing Choral Festival, the biennial musical performance hosted by the Ames Children's Choir. The festival will feature 260 singers from six choirs in Ames (Fellows and Sawyer Elementary Schools), Cedar Falls, Ft. Dodge, and Ogden. The concert will take place at Ames Middle School Auditorium at 7pm. Tickets will be available at the door ($5 Adults, $3 Students/Seniors or $10 per family).

April 18 - Luna Negra Dance Troupe and Turtle Island String Quartet

The Ticket Office is open Monday - Friday from 10am - 4pm, and until curtain time for weekday performances. Wild & Scenic Environmental Film Festival

This environmental film festival is the largest in North America and will feature a variety of prize-winning short films, with proceeds benefiting the Squaw Creek Watershed Coalition. It will begin at 6pm in the Sun Room of the Memorial Union.

Snapshots of Ames
Entry deadline: May 17
Exhibit: June 4 - July 25, 2010
Snapshots of Ames, a juried photography exhibit of photos taken in or around Ames, will be showcased this summer at the Octagon Center for the Arts. All amateur and professional photographers that are residents of Iowa are eligible to enter. Photographs may be creative, unique, architectural, special events, sports, landscapes, weather, animals, people, places, etc. The photopragh must be an original and taken within the Ames zip codes within the last two years. There will be cash prizes awarded to the photographers of the top seven photographs.
