FROM THE HEART         NEWS FROM KIDS FIRST MAY 2012
Greetings to our friends and supporters,

May brings us the start up dates for a new round of after-school support groups for kids; if you missed out on registering for a May group, we will have new ones starting on June 19th and 20th.

I've been busy this month meeting with many of our local judges and magistrates to re-emphasize the value of the co-parenting services we provide here at Kids First, along with our divorce support groups for kids and educational opportunities for professionals. While I'm at it, I'll take this opportunity to remind you that you, too, can help spread the word about how our programs may have benefited you, or a client of yours. Do someone struggling through a separation or divorce a favor today and suggest they visit us at www.kidsfirstcenter.org to see what we can do to lessen the negative impact on them and their children.

Sincerely,

Peg Libby
Executive Director

2012 KIDS FIRST GALA AUCTION
Gala 2012 graphic

Thursday, May 17, at The Woodlands Club, Falmouth

We've been planning it for months, and the Gala/Auction is finally here!  So many volunteer hours have gone into organizing this event (with so many more hours yet to go), and so many generous businesses have sponsored us.  I hope you will take the time to look over these lists of fantastic items, both for the Silent Auction and the Live Auction. Plus, this year we have a great raffle item, a fabulous menu and dancing to the music of the band, Big Chief.

As always, the Auction Book has gone to print but the items are still rolling in (which is not a bad thing!). So, we are creating an addendum of items that you will not find in the book but will find at the event, and they are every bit as unique and interesting as the rest of the treasures. For example, have you ever considered having lunch with Sen. Olympia Snowe? Don't miss out on an opportunity for you and a guest to have a "power" lunch with the Senator, who is retiring from Congress. Senator Snowe is one of the most influential leaders in Congress and is recognized for her many contributions on both a national and international level. This promises to be a chance of a lifetime to have an interesting and engaging conversation with a powerhouse Senator who has helped put Maine on the map!

So if you haven't registered to attend the Gala yet, there is still time. We are not taking bids on items before the event, and you must be present to bid. You don't want to miss out! (You are, however, able to buy raffle tickets online in advance to win the new iPad; you do not need to be present to win the raffle). This evening promises to be a feast for all the senses, so don't delay and by all means, bring along a friend or two!
