Hi  ,

Please pray with us.  Our staff is headed on a two-day silence and solitude retreat to a monastery (www.ndganagobie.com) this weekend.  We will each be there individually, observing 48 hours of Silence and Solitude.  God and me.  Quiet my soul.  As few distractions as possible.  I want to hear God.  I am not taking anything except my Bible.  Should be interesting...  We'll see what God does with the time.  Please pray with us for the following:
  • As Megan and I decide the next step of our journey.  Christian Associates (CA) has asked me to consider leading their Global Recruiting - leading the recruiting efforts of a $4M, 200+ person missionary organization with 51 missional initiatives on 5 continents.  I want to invite you into prayer with me as I listen to see if this is what God has for me next.  I love pastoring a church and God has used me here.  At the same time I have always believed my strengths regarding Kingdom endeavors lay on the operations side and recruiting is a passion of mine.  I would love to bring more people into CA, pastoring and shepherding them toward God's calling by sending them out to the nations!  We are coming up on our 5th year in France and because of US/France tax agreements, within a year, we likely need to follow God into the next phase of His journey.  If this is His plan, I ask that you be with us too - support us with your prayers and finances, as we continue bringing the Gospel to all people, globally rather than specifically in Aix-en-Provence.
  • Healing for Olivia's wrist.  Olivia broke her wrist last week.  She had surgery and will be in a cast for 6 weeks.  She is back at school and doing pretty well now.  It is very difficult for her and us to do all this in a foreign country - we couldn't understand a lot of the technical terms the doctors and nurses used and some of what they were asking us. It's hard enough watching your daughter in pain and in a hospital, let alone sending her off to surgery in a foreign country and in a foreign language...  Uhg!!  Please pray for a full recovery and for the billing to not be too crazy.  Usually French medical care is really cheap, but it sounds like this one is going to be at least $1,500.
  • Funding our calling.  Thank you for partnering with us in the Gospel.  God's definitely in it.  He's using us and he's using you.   I am taking the next month to do some major fundraising. It's been over two years since I was last home (on furlough) and as you know, this job really is two jobs.  Leading our Church Community and maintaining enough support to be here and lead the Church.  We need to raise an additional $2000 per month in our Christian Associates account and are prayerfully believing toward 15 partners to take $100 - $200 chunks of that.  In addition, we need to raise about $20,000 one-time funds to cover some of this year's expenses and shortfall in our account over the last year.    Your financial support and prayer support would be a huge blessing to us!  To Give online: http://tinyurl.com/Rapp-Support (Under "Missionaries and Projects" please click on "Missionaries"  and then click on "Rapp, Teal and Megan - 41815")
Story Time
  • She's  from California and her family are not Christians. She found ICCP and is so thankful and excited to get involved.  She believes God has given her ICCP to draw her near to Him.
  • The day before the Rentrée party, he ran into some girls from Vanderbilt University, who were lost after hiking Mt. St Victoire and gave them a ride into town.  He invited them to ICCP's Rentrée party the next day and they came!
  • Three girls asked her if they could be discipled - they want to learn and be challenged to grow through a discipleship relationship.
"Fund-raising is as spiritual as giving a sermon, entering a time of prayer, visiting the sick, or feeding the hungry! We are declaring we have a vision that is amazing and exciting.  We are inviting you to invest yourself through the resources that God has given you - your energy, your prayers, and your money - in this work to which God has called us."  - Henri Nouwen, The Spirituality of Fund-Raising
