Webinar on Basic Blower Door
We are starting up our series of webinars this fall by starting out with the Basic Blower Door.  In addition to covering the various components and how to assemble, we go through how to do a test as well as how to use Cruise Control and the Baseline features.

We have updated the section on software.  We will briefly cover some of the updates to TECTITE with the latest version 4.0 and introduce the iPone and iPad app called iTEC RESNET.  There have been some changes to how you perform a Blower Door test with the latest changes to Chapter 8 of the RESNET Standard.  The changes are effective for 2012.

This webinar will be followed-up with an entire webinar on RESNET Blower Door testing standards.

The Basic Blower Door webinar will take place on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at noon Central time.  Click here to register for the Basic Blower Door webinar.  This will be presented by Frank Spevak, Marketing & Sales Manager of The Energy Conservatory.

The RESNET Blower Door webinar will take place very early November.  You will receive an email with the date and link soon.  See the article below about the new RESNET Blower Door Quick Guide.

Manual One-Point RESNET Blower Door Test

In 2011 the RESNET National Home Energy Rating System added new performance testing procedures for Building Enclosure Testing. The new Chapter 8 Standards went into effect January of 2012. Under section 802, Raters will have the option of performing one of 3 Building Enclosure Test procedures.

  1. Single-point test
  2. Multi-point test
  3. Repeated single-point test

All 3 of the tests can be easily completed using TEC's free TECTITE

Automated Blower Door test software. If you choose to work without a computer and wish to perform the tests manually, you can just download our new quick guide for instructions. If you wish to create a report from your manual test you can also use TECTITE or our IPhone ITEC RESNET app to manually enter in your test data and create a report that you can email back to your office or client.
