The Fondren Express served as a parking shuttle for the cold evening, taking participants from their vehicles to the front door. The Club at St. D Adds Jackson Area's First 'Digital' Personal Trainer
The
Club at St. Dominic's has become the first fitness center in the
Jackson area to install FitLinxx in its wellness center. FitLinxx is
innovative technology that serves as an interactive personal trainer
and in the process, takes fitness training to a new level, said Amy
Batson, director of The Club at St. Dominic's.
"Extremely
user-friendly, FitLinxx is a computerized support system mounted
directly on the exercise equipment," said Batson. "We have installed
it on 11 strength machines and 15 pieces of cardio equipment. It's a great way
to track your progress, stay motivated and achieve measurable results."
"Our trainers will always be available to assist
members with their fitness goals," she said. "It just adds a new dimension to fitness and
offers our members the most complete fitness center in Jackson."

Jewish Film Fest Begins Today in Jackson
Heroism. Remembrance. Growing up. Overcoming prejudice. These
important subjects are explored in the four films to be shown at the
Jackson Jewish Film Festival today through the 24th at Millsaps. The festival
is presented in collaboration with Millsaps College Jewish Culture
Organization and Jewish Cinema South, a program of the
Goldring/Woldenberg Institute of Southern Jewish Life, which is based
in Jackson, MS. All films will be shown at the Millsaps College
Academic Complex Recital Hall, 1701 North State Street, Jackson, except tonight's, which will show at the Auditorium Restaurant in Fondren.
The festival will open tonight at 7:30 pm and conclude Sunday at 2pm. In support of the film festival's mission to educate youth about
tolerance and diversity, Jackson-area students will view "West Bank
Story," a short musical comedy that describes the Israeli-Palestinian
conflict as a Mideast "West Side Story." Ticket prices and more details are at www.isjl.org.
