Craftsmen's Guild Celebrates 36th Aniversary
The 36th anniversary of the Craftsmen's Guild of Mississippi
was celebrated at the Crème de la Craft party recently, and the Fondren Express
was on hand to take part. Held at the Mississippi Craft
Center in Ridgeland, the
$100 ticket enabled patrons to receive a fine craft item valued at the same
price. "It's our party, but you'll leave with the present!" was the theme
of the evening, while bluegrass music and blue jean casual was the rule. Multiple
caterers provided delicious food and fun festivities. Demonstrations by
talented artisans were taking place in every studio space throughout the contemporary craft center! It was a unique event in a spectacular setting and we were glad
to be involved. A slide show of photos is available at www.afotoaffair.com, and www.mscrafts.org
under slideshows. Check out the calendar for next year at www.mscrafts.org!

Broad Street Brings Bakery Back!
Freshness
has returned! That's the word from Broad Street Baking Company and Café where
Jeff Good and his team have recently completed the big move. That move takes
the bakery out of Cabot Lodge near Millsaps and puts it back in Banner Hall -
where fresh bread and pastries come straight from the oven to the rack and display
case. Good says the move is something they have wanted for a while, but felt
the time was right after recent foundation repairs and other upgrades to the
I-55 North restaurant. And patrons' patience has paid off, giving Broad Street the
ability to satisfy larger orders, and ensure the quality of their product.
While the transition is big enough news, Broad Street has also brought a perk to
the patio: outdoor dining. "The space is wonderful," Good says of the intimate,
al fresco experience.
Been a
while since you have had a Broad
Street dining experience? With an early bird
discount from 4-6pm, there's no time like the present! Stop in today...and tell
them Captain Ron said hello! |
