Premier Girl's Night Out is Tuesday July 28
 Save the date for Tuesday July 28 from 5:30-7:30pm at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Ridgeland for another great bridal event from Premier! The evening, billed as the Premier Bridal Show Girl's Night Out, will showcase services from catering to floral, cake makers, photographers, and even transportation. That's where we come in! Save 7% on Clothing, Shoes July 31 & August 1
 Back to school shopping can put a strain on any family budget. That's why Mississippi is helping with a 7% sales tax break on Friday July 31 and Saturday August 1. The discount applies to individual items of clothing and footwear valued at $100 or less. The eligible list includes pants, shirts, blouses, dresses, coats, jackets, belts, hats, undergarments and garments sold as a set. Lt. Governor Phil Bryant said in a recent press conference that he has "seen the excitement among the retailers who are
poised to make a ton of money during the weekend."
Fourteen states and the District of Columbia have sales tax holidays,
including the three states surrounding Mississippi -- Louisiana,
Alabama and Tennessee.

5th Annual Chick Ball This Saturday
 The Jackson Free Press will hold its 5th Annual Chick Ball to raise
money for the city's first domestic abuser intervention program. This
year's event again will be held at the Red Room at Hal and Mal's
restaurant and brewery at 200 S. Commerce Street in downtown Jackson. The 2009 Chick Ball events begin with a one-woman play and singer-songwriter showcase on Friday night. Then on Saturday, events kick off at 6pm.
Proceeds go directly to the Center for Violence Prevention, which
offers services and support for families in a domestic violence
situation in the Jackson metro area and surrounding communities.
Tickets prices are $15 for the Friday night play and singer/songwriter
showcase, and $5 Chick Ball admission. Tickets for door prizes donated
by local merchants are $5 each. You can buy a ticket for the entire
weekend, which includes two door prize tickets, for $25 at the door or
in advance by credit card.
