Artist Adds Another Masterpiece to Series
He's done it again! Artist Alex Dorobantus has just put the finishing touches on a 4th of July caricature for the Fondren Express. Last August, we commissioned Alex to create the perfect playful representation of the trolley. Since that time, he has created versions for Christmas, Easter, Valentine's, Thanksgiving, Halloween, and, of course, Independence Day. Alex's most recent caricature for the Fondren Express also includes Mississippi Blood Services, our newest merchant partner. The art will be used to promote their Ride For Life blood drives.
We all agree...this 4th of July version may be the best yet! Want a bigger picture? Just click the thumbnail above. Want a caricature of your very own? Contact Alex at www.ecaricature.com. And tell him the Fondren Express says hello!

Broad Street Made New After Repairs
Believe it or not, what started on March
1st is finally over. The foundation work at Banner Hall, home of Broad Street
Baking Company & Caf, is done, and Broad Street is back! Owner Jeff Good says there are many new
amenities to make customers feel more at home, and an old favorite is
back. Good says at the request of
patrons, counter service will return. The
additions include sofas, club chairs & end tables upstairs, a long
banquette downstairs, and all new sales counters and take out area. Good also says the porta-potties are gone and
new bathrooms are in place. Tech savvy
customers will be thrilled as there are laptop computer power plugs everywhere. Good promises quick service, flexibility, and
Broad Street the way you like it. Future
plans will bring the bakery back to the Banner Hall location from Cabot Lodge
where it has been for many years.
