Touch Ups Leave Trolley Looking New!
Once in a while, what was old and made new needs to be made new again, and this past week, the trolley has done just that: become new again! Over time, minor cosmetic issues have left our beloved Fondren Express looking lovingly used. We wanted to change that, and so hit and run damage we incurred last year has been fixed, bumpers and exterior metal were repainted, and the wood trim has been restained. Rivets were requilded in goldleaf and brass was polished, while Scanlon-Taylor Millwork Company replaced missing wood trim. These improvements, along with others, were made to further insure the safety and comfort of our passengers. Step aboard during our Monday-Friday Fondren route or see if you notice this wonderful restoration on your next charter!

Why, hop aboard the Fondren Express! We'll charter the girls from the Hilton to Renaissance at Colony Park today where they are helping to celebrate Renaissance's one year birthday. THE Sweet Potato Queen herself, Jill Connor Browne, will have a book signing from 4pm-5pm at Barnes & Noble.

Good Sam Serving Working Families
One of our favorite charities has added an additional program to help working families. Good Samaritan Center saw a need to help ease tight budgets in the
economic crisis and, like many other non-profits, their
"open" hours were never quite convenient for working families. So, "Social Service Saturday" was born. Michael Cumberland, Good Sam's case manager, says that he loves the chance to make a
direct difference in the lives of so many people. This program, he adds, is a
great way to help more working families and individuals who can't make
it during normal business hours. Director of PR & Marketing Joanna Puddister-King said Good Sam's entire staff has been excited from the get-go about this
opportunity.
The program is by appointment only. Working individuals can call the
center at 601-355-6276 for this special Saturday session. A picture id (for head of household) and social security cards (for
everyone in the household) are needed to participate. By the way, Puddister-King says their men's clothing section is quite thin. "We especially need pants, slacks, blue jeans, shirts, and shoes."
