Captain's Photos Chosen For Exhibit
Copyright 2009 Ron Mills We knew he was a great driver, host, and personality, but now there's another reason to celebrate Captain Ron.  Ron Mills' photography has been chosen to hang as part of an architectural photo exhibit beginning Saturday through April 11 at the Mississippi Center for the Arts downtown.  The exhibit is a traveling show celebrating America's favorite architecture, along with architecture from Mississippi, art by architects, and architectural photos submitted by local shutterbugs.  Captain Ron submitted three entries and all were chosen by a panel of two local architects and a local photographer.

When I hired Ron Mills over two years ago, I had no idea that he had an interest in photography.  He tells me he studied film making at USM for a time, and, while in the Service in the early 70's, film-based photography. And he hated it - the dealing with film part, that is.  Captain Ron says the encouragement of some friends and a renewed interest caused his purchase of a proper digital SLR camera in November of last year.  And the digital world is one he loves.  Ron says modern technology has opened so many new windows for him.  Those are windows we're glad he chose to look through - and to share the view with all of us.

Again, congratulations from the team here at the Fondren Express.
