The University of Oklahoma offers a unique opportunity for students to work within the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics. An internship in Oklahoma Athletics will provide students with invaluable experience that will benefit the pursuit of a career in almost any field.

The OU Athletic Marketing Department is currently seeking qualified applicants for the 2012-2013 academic year. Internships are yearlong commitments of time, energy, and effort. This includes regular attendance at meetings and most Oklahoma sporting events. If you are a Sooner with initiative, dedication, a strong work ethic, and a genuine interest in Oklahoma Athletic Marketing, then you are encouraged to apply. Your application indicates that you understand the nature of these positions and that you are willing and able to make this commitment regardless of other jobs or endeavors you may be involved in.

The University of Oklahoma Athletic Marketing Department regards this internship as a vital component of the success of our department. The efforts and contributions of our interns are crucial to game day operations and production as well as day-to-day office maintenance. Our interns are often the first people that fans interact with at OU athletic events. Thus, professional and enthusiastic attitudes are necessary qualities for all of our interns.

Those chosen for a Marketing & Promotions Internship with the OU Athletic Marketing Department will be selected as either a Lead Marketing & Promotions Intern or a Marketing & Promotions Intern.

Writer/Editor/Graphic Design/Fundraising Internship

 

The OU President's Associates program, in conjunction with the Office of Gift and Estate Planning and the Women's Philanthropy Network seeks a paid student intern for the fall semester.

 

Job Type: Part-time 15-20 hours a week and can be eligible for college credit

 

Basic Purpose/Job Function: Provide professional writing, editing, design and fundraising for the OU President's Associates, the Women's Philanthropy Network and the Office of Gift and Estate Planning

 

Typical functions may include:

  • Design and release materials including press releases, feature stories, weekly blog and social media
  • Assist in updating various templates including logos, letterhead, newsletters and website
  • Research for stories
  • Assist in event planning
  • Soliciting for annual gifts
  • Networking with members and donors
  • Assist team with administrative duties including thank you notes, birthday cards and membership renewals

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Preferred upperclassmen or graduate student

Skills:

  • Self-starter
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Adobe Suite

Preference:  Juniors, Seniors, Graduate Students with a GPA of 3.0 or better
Preference:  A major or minor emphasis in journalism, public relations, political science or government

Internship Description:
Interns for the Senate Communications Division are responsible for assisting staff with day to day responsibilities, including distribution of news clippings internally, as well as filing and faxing press releases.  Interns may also be required to write "form" press releases which require specific information to be entered into a standard template.  Interns may also be asked to assist the communications staff during press conferences and other media events.  Work hours will be arranged to fit the student's schedule. Morning work hours are preferred.

Criteria for intern applicants with the Senate Communications Division:
Applicants should be able to touch-type, with a net speed of approximately 45 wpm.  
Applicants must have good internet skills and be adept at using the internet for research, writing,  and emailing press releases.
Applicants will interview for the intern position.

A $100 transportation stipend is provided at the successful completion of the internship.

An internship with the Senate Communications Division will provide students insight as to the relationship between elected officials and the media as well as a first hand look at representative democracy in action.  Interested students should have a high interest in government and communications, be responsible and accountable for their work, and behave in a mature and professional manner in the office setting.

Communications Intern, Red Bull Dallas
        
PURPOSE OF THIS INTERNSHIP    
Red BullWe at Red Bull are looking for a Communications Intern in our Dallas Office. The intern will work with some of the world's most innovative, exciting and spontaneous communicators and marketers as well as work towards finding innovative and creative avenues to capture and move content and photos generated from events in the Mountain-South Business Unit.  This internship will also provide an opportunity to learn about how the media landscapes works as well as how communications/PR plays out in the marketing mix. It will provide a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience and insight into the daily operations of a growing a global brand.  Responsibilities will vary, but at the end of the day this experience is what you make of it - all we ask for is a whole lot of creativity.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

1.    Attending and actively participating in event planning and set-up.
2.    Pitching local media (print, broadcast, web) to generate awareness of Red Bull events and properties.
3.    Learning the basic elements of product placement.
4.    Updating spreadsheets and calendars.
5.    Maintaining and updating info net postings.
6.    Being an EPC (Entry Point Consumer) resource; researching relevant blogs daily and assisting in the brainstorming of EPC related events, projects and programs.
7.    Delivering and picking up items from contacts.
8.    Sending out provided responses to proposals.
9.    Gathering research via field market visits and the internet.
10.    Creating and maintaining media lists
11.    Construct project media reports and archive media placements
12.    Constructing monthly recaps.
13.    Assisting in meeting coordinating and preparations.
14.    Organizing expenses.
15.    Assisting in development of social media growth strategies and implementation in market.
16.    Providing assistance on-site as needed.

  1. We begin with a nationally-recognized week long training May 13-19. Training is located in Chapel Hill, NC and provides a solid foundation for your summer. Job Description:
UD offers a paid summer sales internship to college students who are self-motivated, energetic, organized, and have a desire to succeed. As an advertising sales representative, you will sell and market advertising and communication services in Norman, OK. The internship begins with an expense-paid training on the campus of the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill. Following training you will embark on a summer-long internship where you will develop and improve the needed skills to succeed in today's business world.

The internship is Monday-Friday, May 21-August 10. Throughout the summer you will work with local business owners to target their advertising to the college community and provide them with a well-rounded marketing strategy. Our Internship program is open to all years and all majors, as it provides students with tangible skills to apply in any field. You will learn marketing, sales, advertising, time management, and several other tangible skills from the internship.
