From OU to the Oscars: Gaylord College's Connections to the Awards
Hollywood is not the only place basking in the shine of the Oscar's. OU and the Gaylord College have two connections to this year's awards: one a recipient and the other a public relations professional.
Mark Malone, 1990 Radio/TV/Film and Electronic Journalism, was the writer of the thought-provoking Best Documentary, The Cove. The film exposes the ugly secrets behind the dolphin trade in Japan. Read more about Malone's involvement and watch the trailer to the film.
Gaylord College's second connection to the Oscar's is one of the behind-the-scenes superstars that plan and execute the ceremony. Annie Terracina, 2008 public relations, has spent the last three years working behind the scenes coordinating the many events leading up to the actual ceremony, developing a social media campaign for the awards and helping direct traffic on the Red Carpet. Look for more about Annie's career in the next newsletter.
