| JOIN THE ASSOCIATION OF FUNDRAISING PROFESSIONALS
Are you interested in the world of philanthropy and the nonprofit
sector? Are you interested in becoming a fundraiser or learning more
about the fund-raising profession?
Then, you might be interested in chartering a collegiate chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
The
Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) represents nearly 28,000
members in more than 190 chapters throughout the world, working to
advance philanthropy through advocacy, research, education and
certification programs. The association fosters development and growth
of fundraising professionals and promotes high ethical standards in the
fundraising profession.

STUDY ABROAD: CIMBA ITALY

CHANGE THE WORLD THROUGH SPRING CLEANING
Want
to make a difference to fellow communicators halfway around the world?
Take a moment to do a little spring cleaning and donate some of your
communications resources (textbooks, manuals, CDs, DVDs) for the
first media and communication resource center in Ethiopia.
The
resource center, sponsored by the Population Media Center (PMC),
is open to any professional communicator in Ethiopia and serves the
general business community in Addis Ababa. The goal of the Population
Media Center is to improve the health and well-being of people around
the world through the use of entertainment-education strategies.

LOOKING FOR A SMART, SAVVY WOMAN
|
Longing for excitement and stardom after graduation? No, It's not a personal ad.
The New York Television Festival and Procter and Gamble Productions are
looking for outstanding graduating seniors to star in their own
television pilot.
Are you a smart, savvy, amazing young woman, with a perspective on
life that should be shared with the world? Then pick up a camera and
enter the "Flying Solo" TV Pilot Contest!
The audition can be anything - just show us who you are and what
makes you and your life interesting - be creative. We're looking for
storytellers with a unique perspective on what it is like to graduate
college and spread your wings for the first time. Videos should be 2-4
minutes and can be uploaded to official contest Web site .
The deadline for submissions to the contest is May 23rd, 2008.
Officials from the NYTVF and PGP will screen the audition videos and
select up to three winners. The winners will each star in their own new
television pilot centering around their lives after graduation.

to grad student, Kelly Mitchell for winning the People's Choice Award
at the recent Student Research and Performance Day for her poster
presentation, "Internet Communication Model." The award was presented
by The Graduate Student Senate.
