Water fun Are you going anywhere fun for summer vacation this year? We're saving cash, gas and travel time and seizing the moment with our mini-staycation for a few days this week.

My 7 and 9-year-old love having unscheduled days start to finish, as do I. We're lingering in bed, playing with the dog, playing board games, and due to the heat index, going outside only if we have access to a hose or a pool!

"The Magic School Bus in a Bee Hive" The Magic School Bus kids are turned into bees. When their honey is stolen by a bear, they must find a way to let the other bees know where the last field of flowers is.

This Saturday morning: Old Capitol Farmers Market. Begins at 8:00 a.m. Come buy fresh fruits and vegetables from a variety of vendors. Held Wednesday and Saturday mornings through October. Adams Street in downtown Springfield.
