ILLINOIS STATE MUSEUM LOOKING FOR VOLUNTEERS TO HELP STAFF NEW PLAY MUSEUM
| | Maybe you are a person who loves to share your enthusiasm for learning with children. Or perhaps you know a neighbor or grandparent who is excited to spend time with young people for a few hours at a time. If so, the Illinois State Museum is looking for you! Their all new Play Museum is set to open in March, and they need volunteers. It might be the perfect opportunity for you or someone you know. Information here.

February 19th: KidsFest from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at the Prairie Capitol Convention Center. KidsFest is sponsored by St. John's Children's Hospital, Capitol Radio Group, My Friends Discovery Center and others. Fun activities for the kids and more than 60 booths of helpful information for parents.
February 19th: From Disability to Possibility. 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. at Southeast High School. Information about a variety of topics including: IEP advocacy, assistive technology and ABA will be available. Details here.
Giggle Giggle Quack on February 25th at 7:00 p.m. at Sangamon Auditorium. This funny and colorful musical for young audiences teaches respect, compromise and the value of friendship. Springfield Moms will be there, too, with pre-show activities.
February 19 and 20th and February 26 and 27th: Lincoln Memorial Garden Maple Syrup Demonstration Time. 1:00, 2:00 and 3:00 p.m. hikes.
Saturday, February 26th at 1:00 p.m. Alice In Wonderland Tea Party. Each $15 ticket includes one performance ticket to the 2:00 show, cookies, punch/tea, crafts and a cast meet and greet.
6th Annual Style of Hope on Thursday, March 3rd. 6:30 reception, 7:30 fashion show. Buy your tickets for this fabulous event now. Proceeds benefit the children of The Hope Institute. This "Girls Night Out" event features gourmet hors d'oeuvres, Peases's chocolates, champagne toast, live and silent auctions, live music and an extraordinary fashion show, produced by Chicago's own, Zzazz Productions.
