 Early Registration Going On Now Through February 9th for 2011 Hearts at Home Conference in Normal. This is the year to enjoy a "Mom Revolution!" Don't miss it!
TONIGHT: Careers in Sports Medicine at 6:30. AthletiCare offers free seminars on sports and fitness issues on the third Wednesday of the month. This month, learn about careers in sports medicine. Registration encouraged. Details here.
 Westminster Co-op Preschool Open House: Friday, January 21st from 12:30 - 2:00 p.m. Children who will be 3 or 4 years old by September 1st are eligible. There is also a Pre-K class for 4-5 year olds. Westminster Co-op Preschool is a program accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. The Co-op provides developmentally appropriate activities through a combination of free choice play and structured learning.

Adult Cooking Classes now being offered by Susan Shaw and Central Illinois Event Catering. Monday, January 24th at 5:30 is "Warm It Up With Homemade Soups" while Wednesday, January 26th is "Artisan Breadbaking for Beginners" also at 5:30 p.m. Monday, January 31st is "Pasta Lovers." Can you smell the wonderful aromas already?!

Kids First Sports Inc. Baseball Registration, January 29th at 12:00 p.m. The Hitting Center, 1800 Dirksen Parkway. Kids First Sports is a youth baseball program organized and operated by volunteer parents of local young ballplayers. The organization was formed to give parents an alternative to more expensive leagues operating in the Springfield area. We believe every child should be given an opportunity to play baseball.
January 29th: 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at Illinois State Museum: Carroll C. Hall Science Series Lab Rats! For kids in 6th - 8th grades. Dr. Shawn Carlson will amaze students with an exciting demonstration of the principles that govern the universe. Next, students will attend a hands-on workshop session. Students will gain a new perspective on science, a scientific instrument to keep and materials to continue the fun at home. Register by January 24th. Details here.
St. John's Lutheran Preschool Open House, February 1st at 5:30 p.m.Families will enjoy a tour of the preschool, meet the teachers and staff and learn about the different areas of learning. Registration forms will be available and may be turned in that evening.
Valentine's Day Retreat on February 4 and 5th at Flagg Bed and Breakfast in Sherman. Don't miss this opportunity to reconnect with your significant other.  Giggle Giggle Quack on February 25th at 7:00 p.m. at Sangamon Auditorium. This funny and colorful musical for young audiences teaches respect, compromise and the value of friendship. Springfield Moms will be there, too, with pre-show activities.

Learn about the heritage and traditions of world cultures. The Museum will be filled with hands-on crafts for children, international displays, live performances and much more.
 6th Annual Style of Hope on Thursday, March 3rd. 6:30 reception, 7:30 fashion show. Buy your tickets for this fabulous event now. Proceeds benefit the children of The Hope Institute.
