 There are so many fun things coming up, it is a challenge to bring them all to your attention, but we are up for the task! Tomorrow - don't miss the Vision Care Style Show and Sale going on from 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Up to 50% off designer lenswear (with purchase of prescription lenses). This weekend, we can't wait to see you at the 6th Annual Halloween at the Market Costume Contest. Every year, the costumes get more and more creative. Details below! If you are looking for a safe, unique and fun Halloween experience for your kids, look no further than the Illinois State Museum. On Sunday afternoon, October 31st, they invite you to "Where are the Wild Things?" in conjunction with WDBR.  Tickets are still available through Sangamon Auditorium for the November 5th presentation of "The Incredible Speediness of Jamie Cavanaugh." Aimed at kids ages 3rd through 8th grades, this show tackles ADHD and bullying with warmth and humor. More details in our Events Calendar below. Please stop and vote at The Wardrobe for your favorite bra in support of breast cancer awareness. Also, don't forget Flea Market 2 Fabulous and their 10 One of A Kind Creations in a silent auction, which also goes toward raising awareness. These both end October 31st.  Sunday, October 31st from noon to 5:00 p.m. Where Are the Wild Things? Illinois State Museum. Co-sponsored with WDBR 103.7 Radio and GenH Coalition. Your little "wild thing" will have a blast learning about nature, the human body, and how to stay safe and active this Halloween through games, hands-on activities, and crafts. Every child will receive a grab bag full of snacks, toys, and prizes and will also be eligible to win other fantastic door prizes. Costumes are encouraged. Proceeds from this event support educational programs at the Museum throughout the year. Admission charged.
  Friday morning, November 5th: FREE car seat check from 9:00 - 11:30 a.m. Sponsored by Zara's Collision Center in conjunction with St. John's Hospital. Zara's Collision Center is located at 3117 Widetrack Drive in Springfield. The checkpoint is by appointment only. Please call 744-2229 (BABY) and press option #3. Friday, November 5, 2010, 7:00 p.m. at Sangamon Auditorium. "The Incredible Speediness of Jamie Cavanaugh." Returning for another US tour! Fast-paced, funny and full of energy, this great new play tackles issues of bullying, violence, peer pressure, learning disabilities and the struggle to fit in. The champion in this play is a positive role model for young people with ADHD and will promote greater empathy and understanding around learning disabilities among teachers and students alike. 3rd through 8th graders.
Friday, November 5th: Comedy for a Cause at Catch 22 from 8:00 - 10:00 p.m. Grown-up night out! Enjoy the humor of four featured comedians, drink specials and $4 Lakepointe Grill pizzas. All to benefit a great cause: Children's Miracle Network.
Sunday, November 7th: Hearts 4 Hope Fundraiser from 1:00 - 5:00 p.m. Food, entertainment and silent auction at Camelot Banquet Center in Springfield. Suggested donations are $10 with proceeds benefiting local charities.
