Greetings!
Happy Holidays!!! Another year is coming to a close and the Holiday Season is upon us. We at the Gray Institute hope it is the closing of a truly great year and it marks the beginning of a tremendous year for all of you. What a blessing "down time" can be as it allows us to begin preparations for next year's already busy schedule. GIFT has recently graduated its 4th class of professionals that now possess the power of Applied Functional Science™, thus enhancing their skills as a practitioner. Currently, there are more than 300 graduates of this life-changing program. The 2011 class officially begins the week of January 17th, 2011. If you are interested or would like to learn more about this mentorship program, please contact GIFT@GrayInstitute.com soon as we are quickly approaching capacity. This month's newsletter is focused on the 3D Matrix Performance Series. We will give you a brief description of what it is, how it began, and how you can use it for yourself or within your practice. For the holidays, we will be offering a 3-pack special of this great series - a great gift idea! As an added bonus, this month's "Question and Answer" section relates to these great DVDs and how you can "tweak" or change the workouts to increase intensity, decrease intensity, or for another specific purpose. If you have any questions, concerns, comments or if you have an idea for a future topic, please contact Lenny Parracino at lparracino@gmail.com. Thank you!

Practical Application
The creation of the 3D Matrix Performance Series is a result of many years of scientific research completed by the Gray Institute coupled with constant requests for packaged workouts from Institute followers. Each topic in the Series contains movements with "drivers" that are logically and sequentially organized for desired purposes. This is all done with an underlying foundation of Applied Functional Science™.
Each workout is terrific in its own right, however a great feature is that they all can be easily "tweaked" or changed to accomodate the needs of you, a group, or a specific individual. Additional weight, increased speed, decreased speed, and additional repetitions are all simple and easy "tweaks" to increase or decrease the intensity of the workouts. The best way to find out what works is to experiment with all of them. Another great feature is the fact that you can take a segment of a workout to focus on a specific body part. For example, if you would like to build bigger shoulders, simply use the Shoulder-to-Overhead portion of the Core Conversion workout.
Doug Gray, FAFS has written a great article on Applied Functional Science™ and the 3D Matrix Performance Series. Within this article you will find a list of links that enable you to download three more articles that are specific to each edition from the Performance Series.

Questions and Answers 1. Can you explain the thought process behind the logic within the differing topics of the 3D Matrix Performance Series? 2. I have really enjoyed all three topics from this series. How can I customize them for more advanced and less advanced levels?
