Greetings!

Welcome.  We at The Gray Institute hope your enjoying the start of 2010.

The GI is proud to announce a full class for our GIFT 2010 Mentorship.  We have practitioners from around the world joining together; throughout this years newsletter we will be exposing their talents so our newsletter readership can also benefit from their vast experience.  As the saying goes,

"The whole is more than the sum of its parts."

This month we will share some of Gary Gray's secrets to extensibility of the trunk and how it relates to golf (or any upright function).  To play better golf or simply function better upright; one must have extensibility.  Much can be learned simply by understanding how Gary applies the principles of human movement to this specific technique.  In other words, his wisdom can be applied to any task for any patient!  We hope you enjoy!

If you have any questions pertaining to the practical applications section this month please email your questions to Lenny Parracino at lparracino@gmail.com .

Thank you, we look forward to hearing from you.

Practical Application

G2_Golf BiomechanicsPlease watch Gary Gray, PT as he takes us through multi-dimensional spinal distraction stretches.  These were selected to share with you an application that can be applied to all client / patients, not just golfers.  Most of our adult life is spent upright; therefore a large portion of our mobilizations should concentrate on upright postures.

Gravity and the ground compress us all day which leads to stiffening, try these mobilizations if you don't own a True Stretch try to devise an overhead contact point that allows your whole body to relax, relaxing is the key as you cant effectively mobilize if your too tense.  Give it a try on your body and then share with your clients / patients.

For more please see the DVD True Stretch for Golf with Gary Gray, PT
