More great results for our teams last weekend
Presidents Day Weekend saw both the Bantam AA and Pee Wee AA Ice Dogs Teams travel to St. Louis, Missouri to participate in the "Show Me State Shoot-Out"

The Bantam AA team started the tournament with a 2-0 Shut-out against the Omaha Jr. Mavericks.  They continued the undefeated streak by winning their next two games 3-2 against the Ft. Zumwalt West Jaguars and 5-3 against the Twin Bridges Lightning.  With the Ice Dogs going 3-0 in the round robin they faced the Jaguars again in the championship game and came away with the trophy after a hard fought 5-4 victory.

The Pee Wee AA team also started the tournament with a win, going up against the Peoria Jr. Rivermen and winning 5-3.  Other round Robin action saw the Ice Dogs tie the Chesterfield Falcons 5-5 and then lose 0-1 against the Meramec Sharks.  Semi-Final play had the Ice Dogs pitted against Falcons again and instead of a tie, the Ice Dogs came away with the  4-2 win to advance to the championship game.  The trophy went to the Ice Dogs who went on to beat the Meramec Sharks 5-2.
Team Encore first medal
Team Encore medal in their first competition
Our new synchronized skating team here at the Glacier, Team Encore, competed in their first competition of the 2009 season this past weekend in Niles, Illinois.

The team, with skaters ages 4 and up, performed their "Cat" routine the best they have yet.

The team placed 3rd and all of the skaters went home with a medal. Coaches Sue Schmitt, Lauren Maday, Lisa Oberdick, and Danna Victor are all extremely proud of the team, and are all looking forward to their next competition this coming weekend in Bensenville.

Erica Kaplinsky, Cindy Crouse and Maureen Lindhardt are off to Wyandotte, Michigan where Erica is competing in the Silver 3 and Cindy and Maureen are competing in Gold Freestyle, where they are hoping to grab one of the four qualifying slots for Championship Gold.
