 Ice Dogs Teams are finishing the season on a high note!
The Mite AA team, competing at the Mite Elite level went 15-1-0 (win-loss-tie) for the season to clinch the Presidents Cup and then the NIHL Championship Title with a dominating 4-1 win over the Flames last Sunday. The Squirt AA team, competing at the Squirt Elite level went 14-1-1 to capture the Presidents Cup and in NIHL Championship play won the tournament with a 1-0 win over the Yellow Jackets last Sunday. Squirt A Navy Squad competes at the Bronze level and has advanced to the Championship game this Sunday to face Pekin. They had a strong win over Glenview 5-2 in the semi-finals and was the only team at this level to win their first game of the tournament in Overtime on a penalty shot. The Bantam A team also competes at the Bronze level and beat St. Jude in a one goal 3-2 win to advance to the Championship game this Sunday where they will meet the Sabres. The Pee Wee AA team, playing in the Elite level also came away with the regular season Presidents Cup, going 15-2-1. In the NIHL Tournament, the team posted a win and two ties in the round robin portion and faced Northbrook in the consolation match

Good Luck to our Teams that are competing this weekend in Championship Games
We have two Ice Dogs teams competing in NIHL Championship Games this weekend. The Squirt Navy Team will be playing the NIHL Bronze level final and our Bantam A Team will also be playing the NIHL Bantam Bronze level on Sunday.

Team Encore competes in their first competition this weekend
Good luck to our synchronized skating team, Team Encore. They will be competing in their very first competition this Saturday, February 14th at the Sweetheart Open held at Iceland Ice Arena, in Niles. Team coach Lauren Maday says, "We are really excited for our first competition. The team has been working really hard since September to prepare for this first competition."

Valentine's Day Special Public Skate
We have a special public skating sessions this weekend to celebrate Valentine's Day. The first 100 ladies who attend our session on Saturday the 14th will receive a free box of chocolates. President's Day Specials
Monday 16th is Presidents Day and to celebrate you can skate on our public session from 11:30 until 1:00pm for only $5 per person. We also have Youth Open Hockey from 11:30 until 1:00pm on the North Rink. So if you are looking for something to do come down and skate with us!

Pucker up for Valentine's Day
The Vernon Hills Capitals semi-pro hockey team (http://www.VernonHillsCapitals.com) invites fans at this Saturday's game to pucker up for Valentine's Day! The Capitals host the Calumet (Michigan) Wolverines at 8:20PM Saturday night at Glacier Ice Arena in Vernon Hills. The contest's winning couple will receive an overnight stay at an area hotel, dinner for two, movie passes, flowers, chocolate and more! Pucker Up! At the game's opening faceoff, couples will stand just outside the ice rink and lock lips as close to the rink's glass as possible. As the game progresses, participating couples will have to continue kissing, even as slap shots and crashes into the boards near where they are standing occur. The couple that goes the longest without being spooked and breaking their lip-lock will win a fabulous prize package.
