Thanksgiving hockey winTwo in a row for Ice Dog Squirt Elite
The Ice Dog Squirt Elite team played in two Thanksgiving tournaments and reigned as Champions of both tournaments!!
The Chicago Classic Thanksgiving Advanced Tournament started with a game against the Keweenaw Storm and the Ice Dogs dominated 7 to 1.  The next morning the Ice Dogs played the Huskies Central States team and lost a tough game 5 to 3.  They came back strong that evening and beat the Sabres Central States team 6-0, allowing them to advance to the semi-finals.  The semi-final game proved to be the most exciting game against the Chicago Blues Central States team.  The game was tied 2-2 and went into overtime.  After 2 intense overtimes, the game remained tied and went to a shootout. Cole Coskey and Max Brainen each scored for the Ice Dogs, and the Ice Dog goalie, Jeremy Forman, saved all 4 shots allowing the Ice Dogs to advance to the Championship game.    The Ice Dogs went on to win the Championship game 4-1 against the Vikings.
The Glacier tournament started with a game against the Ice Dog Squirt gold team and the Ice Dogs Squirt Elite won 7-3.  The next afternoon the Ice Dogs beat Chesterfield 5-2.  The next morning the Ice Dogs played the Huskies Central States team as described above.  The Championship game was a rematch between the Ice Dogs and the Huskies and was another intense game with the Ice Dogs winning 5-2.
It was an amazing weekend!  A lot of credit should be given to all of the players and coaches for winning 7 out of 8 games against tough competition and winning two Championship games on the same day!!
