Fall Learn to Skate

We are now taking enrollments for our fall Learn to Skate classes.
There are several new classes for the new season including:

    * Power skating on Tuesday evenings after freestyle.
    * Coffee Club on Monday and Thursday mornings.
    * Extra time on a Wednesday evening giving us less crowded ice.
    * Tots and little Dogs on a Thursday

We have the most extensive Learn to Skate program that we have ever offered. Headed up by former Olympic competitor Chris Howarth assisted by Karen Nisenbaum, who has a wealth of experience working in the USFSA Learn to Skate program and is brilliant working with our younger skaters.

Its an exciting time for figure skating at the Glacier!

To sign up just click on the Glacier Skating Academy logo and get skating!

Greetings!

What a week it has been at the Glacier! The start of the season is always busy however this season it's all gone crazy!

The number of players that have signed up for Ice Dogs hockey has far exceeded our expectations and whilst most of the rinks around us are seeing a decline in Learn to Skate registration our program continues to grow.

There are still places available in all of our programs, however enrollment will close soon. This is your last chance to get involved with the fastest growing hockey club in the Chicago area and learn to skate in a program that is going fro strength to strength.

For information on any of our programs visit:
glacierskate.com or icedogs.info. Alternatively you can just call us at (847) 362 1222.

Happy skating,
Chris

Team Encore
Team Encore up and Running!
Last Monday saw the first sessions and Open House for Team Encore, our newly formed synchronized skating team here at the Glacier.

We had a magnificent attendance and it looks as though we will be able to form two teams from the off.

There was a lot of excitement and enthusiasm which is a great indication that Team Encore will make rapid progress.

There are still places available, so if you are interested in learning more about this exciting sport come down and see us Monday evening at 5:00pm.

Hawks - Hull
Bobby Hull to be honored by NHL Alumni Association
Former NHL great Bobby Hull will be honored as the NHL Alumni Association's Man of the Year Thursday night at the organization's seventh annual Gala Dinner, presented by Scotiabank.

The event gets under way at 6 p.m. in the Westin Harbour Castle in downtown Toronto. As always, the NHL Alumni Association will be raising money for charity. It's a dual-charity event this year. Benefitting from the dinner will be "Hockey's Greatest Family Fund," which helps former players who are in need.
