The Still, Small Voice
Wishing You a Happy New Year!

Dear Friend:

Getting clear about what I want and do not want in each new year is one of my favorite activities. I spend New Year's Eve and the next few days doing what I most love to do, in order to build up good energy that will carry into the year. I water and polish my house plants, play a little guitar, write an article, read a good novel, play with my dog, and celebrate over dinner with my loved ones. What do you do to set the stage for the coming year?

Most importantly, on New Year's Eve or Day, I spend as much time as possible in meditation. I begin with silent meditation and linger in that luminous field of Spirit for physical rejuvenation, mental clarity and to open my heart to the active part of the meditation. This includes an inspired writing, wherein I listen to and record my soul's insights and guidance on whatever I need to know. Next, although not in any particular order, I work with my Tarot cards, Viking Runes and I Ching, which invariably echo the sentiments of my inspired writing!

Not only is all of this interesting, informative and fun, I know that tuning in to my Spirit to set my intentions and expectations impresses them on my subconscious mind and physical reality as well.

So if you're not already right where you want to be, perhaps taking time to do what gives you joy will put you on your Red Road. I hope the tools of transformation herein will also be of some use.

I send you my very best wishes for a happy, successful and prosperous New Year!

Fatigue Buster &
 Soul Meditation

Here's how to re-energize your body and keep your ego surrendered to your spiritual heart and soul. Sitting in a quiet space and closing your eyes,

1) Take a few deep, cleansing breaths, then draw your breath up to your forehead and the crown of your head, holding it there for a few moments. Into the stillness

2) Allow the breath of God to enter in and gently exhale, carrying the holy breath down into your lower body. At the end of the exhalation, pause for a few moments and feel the spiritual energy moving in your body.

3) Repeat this process seven times to invigorate your body, clear your mind and open your heart.

4) To deepen this into a meditation, imagine removing your "earthly" self from your body and placing it in front of you. Descend into your subconscious mind. You will know how to do this; just go down and in, down and in. When you are deep inside yourself, say "Arise, my soul" and expand into the universal mind and spirit of God.

5) The currents of Light will come to meet you. Surrender by saying, "Not my will but thine be done," or seek oneness with a phrase like, "O, Spirit, let me be at-one with you." Or commune with God in whatever way seems appropriate.

6) Rest in this deep connection, and toward the end of your meditation, seek insight on questions, issues or challenges and wait quietly for whatever might come.

7) Whether answers present themselves or not, close your meditation by sending out healing energy to loved ones, political leaders, and geophysical areas in distress.

Breathing spiritual energy into your life is health-giving and brings peace to the world. There is no better way to serve yourself and all living things.

Tools for Transformation

Which Wolf?

You have probably heard the story about the Cherokee elder who was teaching a life lesson to his grandchildren. He said to them, "A fight is going on inside me. It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves.

"One wolf represents fear, anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority and ego. The other stands for joy, peace, love, hope, sharing, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, friendship, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion and faith. This same fight is going on inside you, and inside every other person, too."

The children thought about this for a minute and one of them asked, "Which wolf will win?" The old man answered, "The one you feed."

Which wolf will you feed this year? If the good one, what will you feed it? Make a list, post it, and check often to see which wolf you are really feeding. Adjust the food, if necessary, to bring out your higher wolf.

Gifts to the Altar:
A Forgiveness Meditation

Entering 2009 with a clear mind and pure heart is made easier by this simple, effective forgiveness technique.

Close your eyes and go into a meditation. Bring to mind an issue or relationship that has been troubling you. This could be guilt, blame, unresolved anger or resentment, or any other negative emotion that is heavy on your heart.

Now place the issue in a package and wrap it. Carry the package to the altar of God and place it it there. Ask God to take it from you, then turn your back, walk away, and consider it done. Do this as many times as you please.

Live, love and laugh as if your problem or problems are completely resolved and they will be. Doing this on a daily basis, before you fall asleep at night, keeps the heart open and the conscience clear.

Manifesting Your Heart's Desires

Besides the heart-opening techniques in this interim newsletter and the latest full edition of The Still, Small Voice, you might find it useful to usher in the new year with this ritual.

Place several sheets of paper and a pen at hand. Entering meditation, go down and in to the silence of your soul and become aware of what you would like to release. Include negative patterns of thinking, outworn behaviors, destructive relationships--anything that does not support you and bring joy into your life.

Once you have completed your list, burn it. Let it go up in smoke. Next, make a new list of things you want in your life this year. Welcome them in with all the force of your being and post your list somewhere conspicuous. Read it often and bathe it with loving expectation and gratitude. Expect its manifestation, by the Law of Attraction, and just watch the list come to life!

Meditate regularly for inner guidance and consult your Tarot cards, I Ching, Viking Runes or other symbol systems for guidance on right timing during the year. Steer
yourself toward your dreams, and they will steer themselves toward you!

Groovy New Mantra

Try this Unity song as your mantra for 2009. It is more powerful than you can imagine. Several years ago, while severely ill
from food poisoning and literally on the verge of death, I began to sing this song over and over again, meaning every word of it. The vibrations--and my soul's determination--brought me back to life.

I am free, I am unlimited
There are no chains to bind me
I am free, I am unlimited
Right now, right now.

Experiencing

Deeper Meditation

You are cordially invited to attend a superb conference at the Edgar Cayce headquarters, the Association for Research and Enlightenment, on the shores of the Atlantic Ocean from Jan. 16-18 in Virginia Beach, Va. I will conduct a 90-minute workshop on "Music As The Bridge" (to God and higher awareness). The presentation includes music, toning, a guided meditation, and two Deva Premal songs accompanied by keyboardist Karen Toole.

Nationally known author and speaker John Van Auken will present several segments of the conference, "Experiencing Deeper Meditation," named after his 2008 book, Toward A Deeper Meditation. Other excellent presenters include Joy Bloom, transformational drummer; Jesse Gene Moseley, sound healer; Elizabeth Waitekus, labyrinth meditation guide; Peter Woodbury, meditation teacher; and Ellen Cayce, music and movement.

Join Lightworkers' Now

Not long ago, I had a wonderful dream about belonging to a group of lightworkers who were sending love and peace to the world to help people stay calm in these challenging times. The name of the group was Lightworkers N--. I didn't get what came after the N, so I'm calling it Lightworkers' Now.

If you wish to join this coalition of lightworkers, I will send you an email in times of geopolitical turmoil and ask you to send up a calm, loving prayer at least one time during that week. The more you do so, the better. But some is better than none, especially in a group sharing the same healing intention. The effect multiplies exponentially.

To participate, please send an email to judy@eaglelife.com with Lightworkers Now in the subject line and I will add you to this e-group.

Whether you join or not, I invite your suggestions on a related project: HealTheEarth.net. I am looking for beautiful, touching images of people and nature, along with ideas and language to include in a flash movie that will remind people to cherish the earth. Kindly send contributions to judy@eaglelife.com in an email with the subject line reading Heal the Earth.

Together we can reach enough people to bring help and hope that will make a difference in our world!

Lightworkers' Now Alert

Send joy and expectations of positive change to Barack Obama, his administration and the U.S. Congress on Inauguration Day, Jan. 20. This historic American presidency faces perhaps the tallest challenges of all time. Yet the greatest help is given to those in the greatest need.  I will meet you in the airwaves!

  Endquotes
"People are like stained glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within."

                                                                   ~ Elizabeth Kubler-Ross

"As we enter the new millennium, humankind is on the verge of a great breakthrough--a spiritual renaissance. The day of intellectualism is over, and the dawn of transcendence, of intuition, of the wisdom that comes from the heart is upon us."
