Dear Friends,
As you know, we have bid farewell to Pavel Reid, who is now preparing to enter the seminary for the Archdiocese of Vancouver. Pavel was instrumental in growing and developing the Catholics Seeking Christ movement in the Military Archdiocese. His ministry with CSC brought him to countless U.S. military installations in Europe, Asia, and throughout the United States for trainings and consultations. Pavel also helped to re-format our CSC leaders training so that small groups and individuals would be able to train on their own in deployed situations. We will miss Pavel's presence, his dedication to the Catholic Church, and his certain dry sense of humor!
We give thanks to God for the many gifts that Pavel shared in support of all of you who serve our country so well. As Pavel continues his journey of service we invite you to pray for him and all those considering a vocation to the priesthood. We also pledge our continued support to you. The Office of Evangelization in the Military Archdiocese will continue to support and train leaders for Catholics Seeking Christ. Our web site is frequently updated with new resources for those who have completed SQs 1-12 so that you may continue to grow in the Catholic faith.
Each mission requires training and focus. A commitment to lifelong faith formation is a gift that continues to challenge us to become closer to Christ. As we pray individually, in small groups, and with the Catholic Faith Community in the celebration of the Eucharist we are continually drawn to discern how we may share our gifts with those in need.
Please keep us in your prayers as well. This summer we will be meeting with young adults in the military at World Youth Day in Sydney and will be preparing for a CSC training at the U.S. Air Force Academy in August. We are also supporting several military installations as they host their own training to develop new leaders.
Glynnis LaGarde and I will continue to be in touch to support your groups and assist with your questions. May God Bless you in your service. Keep sharing the faith!
Peace,
Mark Moitoza, D.Min. |
