RESIDENT SPOTLIGHT - GC

GC

GC is a very sweet and fluffy grey and white girl.  A common story, this poor little girl was dumped near someone's house, then trapped. They noticed something special about her, and brought her into STAF so we could help her find the forever home she deserves.

This past fall, she was adopted, but brought back to the shelter.  For some reason, she apparently hid for two days at the adopter's house, and the person decided it wasn't going to work out.  Will you give her a chance to warm up to you and your home?  GC really is an extremely loving cat.  She has very soft fur, and so much personality in her two-tone face.  The different colors on her mouth make her look like she is permanently smirking. She loves being petted, and especially loves face-scratches!  The more you pet and scratch her, the louder she purrs.

She will be 5 years old in March - Will you give her a home for her birthday?  Stop by and meet this sweet girl during STAF adoptions on Thursday's from 6:00pm - 8:00pm or Saturday's from 1:00pm - 4:00pm.

RESIDENT SPOTLIGHT - ORLANDO

Orlando

Orlando is listed as a golden retriever mix, but we are pretty positive there is another breed in there. That breed would be something along the lines of big teddy bear. Orlando is a lover of all things, including life. He has a very laid back nature and his favorite thing to do is to lean into you making certain that you reach down to pet him. He is a great snuggler and just a really great dog. When he sees children enter a room his eyes light up as if to ask, "where have you been all my life?".

One of the things that we pride ourselves on at STAF is being 100% honest with anyone interested in adopting a dog from us. With that in mind I have to tell you that although Orlando is considered to be young (estimated birthdate in Jan 2008) he already has the hips of a senior dog. He has been diagnosed with hip dysplasia, Currently we are taking proactive measures to keep him strong. Regular exercise, higer quality foods plus Omega capsules and Glucosium capsules. Maybe he will need surgery in the future, maybe he won't. Right now we just can't say. He is not in any pain now and he loves nothing better than running around in the snow with his dog friend Mooch. We have not listed him as special needs because right now he is not. We do not think it fair to him to list him as such.

STAF is an all volunteer organization and all of our funding is through donations. Because of the dedication of our volunteers and the generous nature of our supporters we are able to help dogs like Orlando. Orlando does not deserve to be put on our hold list because we know, someday, he will require surgery. Orlando deserves what we strive to find for all of our dogs, a welcoming, loving home that will love him, bad hips and all.

Please stop by and meet Orlando during STAF adoptions on Thursday's from 6:00pm - 8:00pm or Saturday's from 1:00pm - 4:00pm.
