Dear Friend of STAF,

Thank you! Because of your generous donations to STAF's Annual Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction, the event was a record breaking success and we raised over $27,500 for all of STAF's furballs!

Our shelter depends so much on this annual event.  It helps support us as we care for over 650 animals and try to find loving and permanent homes for them. Your generosity truly made a difference for each and every one of them.

From all of us at STAF, thank you so much again for making this year's Spaghetti Dinner an incredible success!

EASY WAYS TO HELP!

Eden
RESIDENT SPOTLIGHT - EDEN

Our shelter is full of sad stories waiting for their happy endings. Eden has been waiting longer than most.

She first found her way to STAF as a young stray-stunning, smart and, although eager to please, completely unsure how to do so. After three years in her adoptive home, her owner got engaged and Eden got dumped for a bride-to-be who simply did not like dogs. She found herself back at STAF, deserted but not alone. As every volunteer since has whispered in her funky, flappy ears, "That guy's loss."

Eden is a catch-drop-dead gorgeous, affectionate and so eager to find a family to love. This time for keeps. She knows sit and down, and has the smarts and attentiveness to really excel at training.  She loves car rides, long walks, and snuggling up to her human friends. She's a perfect mix of play-girl outside and content couch potato inside, curling up into a completely adorable napping ball. She'll do best with an experienced owner ... someone with the calm assertiveness, patient understanding and unconditional love that was so lacking in her previous home.

If you think you could be Eden's lucky somebody, please visit during our adoption hours--Thursdays from 6:00-8:00pm or Saturdays from 1:00-4:00pm. You can also help by forwarding Eden's story to other animal-lovers, in hopes of reaching her meant-to-be family.

Big Mac
RESIDENT SPOTLIGHT - BIG MAC

My name is Big Mac, and it suits me!  I'm a big boy with a big personality, and maybe just a bit of a big mouth.  I'm a 5-month-old kitten living in Room 16 at STAF, the room of "chaos, calamity, and kittens"!

My story has a dramatic beginning, but not to worry - it's all working out just fine, so keep reading.  One day last October, a man was in the drive-thru line at McDonalds, waiting for his morning coffee.  With his window down, he could hear a kitten crying - ok, a little more like yelling, but hey, I had to get his attention.  He parked his car and came to find the source of the noise, which appeared to be coming from the trash.  Sure enough, there he found me, wrapped in a discarded bag in the Mickey-Dee's dumpster.  Luckily for me, the man didn't let a little garbage stand in his way and he came right in after me!  He tucked me in next to his Egg McMuffin for warmth and off we went to the shelter.

Since that day things have only gotten better!  Over the next couple months I was bottle-fed and hand-raised, became part of a family of other kittens, and eventually moved into the kitten room.  Now I run, play, leap, and purr all day.  My favorite activities are pouncing on unsuspecting shoestrings, and curling up with my "sister", Melody.   We're the best of friends and can't wait to go to our forever home, which we're certain is just around the corner.

I hope you'll be able to stop in to the shelter to meet me soon!  Animal people like you are the reason I'm here today and I'd love to say THANKS in person!  (Don't forget - wear shoes with laces.)

I've you'd like to meet Big Mac, stop by STAF during our adoption hours on Thursdays from 6:00-8:00pm or Saturdays from 1:00-4:00pm.
