Happy New Year! We hope you had a great holiday season and wonderful New Year! We've got some great fundraisers and events planned at STAF for 2010 and hope you can join us!
Looking for love in all the wrong places? Join us at Red Dog Pet Resort and Spa to find your 'Perfect Match' for this Valentine's Day. Or how about taking your special Valentine to Max and Erma's for dinner and help STAF's furballs all at the same time.
Our annual Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction will be here before you know it and you're not going to want to miss this fun event. The Animal Rescue Site is hosting another shelter challenge so 'vote' for STAF and help us win $10,000.
We love bringing you our Resident Spotlight articles and we're sure you going to love meeting Kona and Batik.

 FIND YOUR PERFECT MATCH THIS VALENTINE'S DAY
Looking for love in all the wrong places? This Valentine's Day, there's no need to look any further than your local shelter or rescue group where plenty of pets are waiting to find their perfect match in a forever family.
In an effort to help pet lovers find a furry friend this holiday, and to place homeless pets in loving homes, the Cincinnati-area Cherished Cockers Rescue, Ohio Pug Rescue, Queen City Greyhound Rescue, and Save The Animals Foundation will be partnering with Red Dog Pet Resort and Spa and Purina to host an adoption event on February 6th at Red Dog Pet Resort and Spa from 12 p.m. to 3p.m.
There will be family fun activities including face for painting kids, best dog tricks contest, pet photos and animal communicator Donetta Zimmerman. In addition, to the February 6th adoption event, local Circle Storage Self Storage in West Chester, Blue Ash and Colerain will be collecting "gently used" pet supplies.
"Find Your Perfect Match" is part of the PurinaŽ PetLover Adoption campaign which promotes the life-enriching benefits of pet ownership and the importance of looking to shelters when considering adding a pet to the family. During the month of February, animal shelters nationwide are rallying together to host PurinaŽ PetLover Adoption events in their local areas to provide potential adopters an opportunity to "meet their perfect match".
So if you're free on February 6th, stop by Red Dog and maybe you'll find your perfect match this Valentine's Day. |
 STAF DAY AT MAX AND ERMA'S IN ROOKWOOD COMMONS
Join us on Wednesday, February 10th for STAF Day at Max and Erma's in Rookwood Commons (2631 Edmondson Road).  ANNUAL SPAGHETTI DINNER & SILENT AUCTION Thank you! Each year our spaghetti dinner helps us continue our work in caring for over 650 wonderful animals. We're able to do this because of the wonderful support all of you continue to give us!
Please join us on Sunday, March 7, 2010 from 1:00-6:00pm for STAF'S Annual Spaghetti Dinner & Silent Auction and help us make this year's dinner our most successful ever!
There'll be All-You-Can-Eat Pasta, Salad, Breadsticks and Dessert! The Animal Rescue Site is hosting a $100,000 Shelter+ Challenge for their eligible Petfinder.com shelter and rescue group members. The grand prize is a $10,000 grant along with 'Honorable Mentions' as well as 'State Winners'

 RESIDENT SPOTLIGHT - BATIK Stop by Room 7 and you're going to meet one of the sweetest cats ever ... our very own Batik!
Born at STAF (his mom was pregnant when she was 'dumped' on our front doorstep) Batik has been waiting for his forever family for 7 years now but he's not discouraged ... he knows you're out there ... you just haven't found each other yet. But if you're looking for your very own Winnie the Pooh...your very own golden honey bear.... this is your boy.
Batik gets along great with other cats and in fact is always happy to help out our kittens - Batik is a blood donor. Always one with a healthy appetite, one of Batik's greatest days was when he was introduced to canned food - there wasn't a happier cat in the shelter. But whether for a quick pet or long visit, nothing makes our guy happier than hanging out with his favorite volunteers.

 RESIDENT SPOTLIGHT - KONA A real sweetie-pie who lights up with a few mere words of affection.
Kona comes to us from a county shelter with the best of intentions but too many dogs and too little funding. Through it all, Kona has maintained a sunny personality ... and some of the most adorable head-wrinkles you'll ever see.
This little girl is happy to sit right next to you while you pet her but is also ready to play or go for a walk. Kona is a delightful clown with people she knows, but can be slightly squirrely with new folks. She will do best in a dog-savvy home willing to give her some time to adjust to new situations. Another dog to help her burn off some of that energy would be ideal!
Kona has had rough road in life but we know her forever family is out there. Could you be her special Valentine? Stop by and meet this sweet girl during STAF adoptions on Thursday's from 6:00-8:00pm or Saturday's from 1:00-4:00pm.
