The holidays are just about here and we've got some great fundraisers coming up to get you in the holiday spirit.
Our annual Big Bucks Raffle has kicked off and you know what that means - a chance to win $5,000! Have you gotten your tickets yet?
Mark your calendars now for STAF Day at Joseph-Beth and Pet Photos with Santa at the PetSpot! Having out-of-town company during the holidays, why not bring them to STAF bingo.
What better way to kick off the holidays than to join Fig, Laura and all of STAF's wonderful residents at our annual Holiday Open House.

 BIG BUCKS RAFFLE 2009
What could you do with $5,000?
That's right, it's back! Because of the incredible support each of you give to all our furry residents here at the shelter, we're doing it again ... we're holding our annual Big Bucks Raffle!
We're selling 5000 raffle tickets at $5.00 a piece for a chance to win EIGHT PRIZES!! The Grand prize is $5000.00, 2nd prize is $2000.00, 3rd prize is $500.00 and there will be five more drawings for a chance to win $100.00 each!
We're holding the Big Bucks Raffle at our Holiday Open House on Sunday, December 6th from 2:00-5:00pm. We wanted to make sure all our friends had a shot at the big prizes so this note is to offer you the chance to buy a ticket or two (or more!). Just download and complete the order form and mail it back to us with your check for the tickets. We'll fill out the tickets in your name and enter you in the raffle! The Open House will be here soon so please, help Rocco and all his friends and send your order back today to make sure you're entered for the big drawing!

 STAF DAY AT JOSEPH-BETH
Join us for STAF Day at Joseph-Beth Booksellers on Saturday, November 21st! Download the attached coupon (Joseph-Beth Coupon), present it to the cashier, and 20% of your bookstore sale and 10% of your Bronte Bistro sale will benefit Friday and all her pals. They'll also be some STAF volunteers there that day from 11:00am - 3:00pm to help gift wrap your purchases. So why not get a jump start on your gift list and visit Joseph-Beth for some great holiday shopping and to help a great cause!  BINGO Have some out-of-town company coming during the holidays? Looking for something to do on a Tuesday or Friday night that helps Benji and all his friends? Join us for STAF Bingo! We've got some great specials coming up in November and it's a fun night out to enjoy with your family and friends.
Bingo is held at the Blue Ash Banquet Center (11330 Williamson Road, just off Cornell in Blue Ash). Starting time is 7:00pm for preliminary games and 7:30 for regular games. We give away over $3100 per night in prize money and have one of the largest selections of instants in town. So come try your luck and help the animals in a big way!

 PET PHOTOS WITH SANTA Join us on Saturday, December 5th from 10:00am - 4:00pm at the Pet Spot for Pet Photos with Santa!
Bring your pet and enjoy a great day with photos, a silent auction with incredible items such as an IPod Shuffle, Purina Gift Basket, gift certificates to Starbucks and much more.
The Pet Spot is located at 2503 Norwood Avenue and proceeds from the event benefit Randy and all his buddies at STAF.

 HOLIDAY OPEN HOUSE Mark your calendars now for our annual Holiday Open House on Sunday, December 6th from 2:00-5:00pm.
In addition to our Big Bucks Raffle, they'll be yummy treats at our Bake Sale Table, some great gifts at our Gift and Craft Table as well as handmade purses and of course, don't forget to pick up a Kroger card.
What better way to ring in the holidays than joining Rooster Cogburn and all his pals so be sure to stop in for a visit, a purr, and a cuddle!

 RESIDENT SPOTLIGHT - LAURA Most folks come to the shelter looking for a dog who will jump right into their lap, lick their face, and become their instant new best friend. These are not the people for Laura.
Laura (est. birthdate Apr. 2000) has had a rough life and, understandably, it takes her a while to trust new people. Those fortunate enough to be in Laura's "inner circle" know that she is one of those things in life worth the effort. Because when she does accept you as a friend, she is the sweetest, most loving and adoring snuggle-bug you'll ever have the fortune to know ... the prettiest little boxer you'll ever met. Our very own "sweet potato!" Nothing will make you feel as special or more adored as having Laura waggling her whole back end because she is so excited to see you.
Laura's perfect home (and we know you're out there!) will be willing to make repeat visits, and be patient as Laura gets to know you. They will have no other dogs. (Laura is not a fan of her own kind and prefers to have you all to herself.) If you have a genuine love and appreciation for boxer breed ... if you want to make a real difference in the life of a dog who will, in return, make an even bigger difference in yours ... you and Laura could be meant for each other.

 RESIDENT SPOTLIGHT - FIG
Thanksgiving is just about here and with it brings the wonderful treats of turkey, dressing cinnamon, nutmeg, pumpkin, and cranberry. At STAF, we would like to add another holiday treat to your home this Thanksgiving in the form of a cat named Fig.
Fig actually has a few names...Figgy, Figlet and The Figster. Fig acquired them because he was the runt of his litter, the Fruits and Nuts, and we did not want him to have a complex. We need not have worried because he has the most adorable round face, tipped ears, and a stunning classic tabby stripe, which ensures that he cannot be ignored no matter his size.
Fig has a very dignified and quiet manner about him. He enjoys a good open handed rub down and when picked up, he loves to give kisses. While a playful tussle with his roommates is not out of the question, most of the time you will find him contently observing his room at STAF, grabbing a snack, catching a bit of a cat nap, or scooting a ball. If you are looking for a companion in your office or book reading buddy, Fig is your man.
At this time of thanks, please consider opening your home to this wonderful cat, who will give you many moments to be thankful for in years to come.
